The Diary of a Schoolkid. The interesting scraps of life in between. Monday, June 29, 2009. Literature: The Road Not Taken. The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,. And sorry I could not travel both. And be one traveler, long I stood. And looked down one as far as I could. To where it bent in the undergrowth;. Then took the other, as just as fair,. And having perhaps the better claim,. Because it was grassy and wanted wear;. Though as for that the passing there.

The Diary of a Schoolkid. The interesting scraps of life in between. Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Literature: Art for To Kill a Mockingbird. The second assignment for me is spatial. The tasks (out of which I have to pick one):. 1 Design a map for Maycomb (think Google map! Take into consideration the location of the homes, streets, etc. (I have totally no clue for this, I'd better play safe! 2 Design an obituary for Mrs Dubose (this sounds morbid, no way I'm doing it! I picked the fourth and last task. Mockin...

The Diary of a Schoolkid. The interesting scraps of life in between. Sunday, May 10, 2009. I am currently learning an interesting novel by George Orwell titled "Animal Farm". Animal Farm is a fable and at the same time an allegory as it has a deeper meaning too. Ultimately, the moral of the story is Lord Acton's famous quote: "Power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts absolutely.". Squealer, the mouthpiece of the pigs, is sly and can manipulate the animals by using his gift of the gab to convince the a...

The Diary of a Schoolkid. The interesting scraps of life in between. Sunday, March 29, 2009. Yesterday (Saturday, 28/3/09), from 8.30pm to 9.30pm, was Earth hour. Last year, about a billion people from approximately ninety countries switched off their lights for an hour to play their part in saving the Earth. However, even if one billion people switched off their lights for an hour, it would only be equivalent to stopping China's emissions for a mere six. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Diary of a Schoolkid. The interesting scraps of life in between. Thursday, July 2, 2009. His magnum opus is The Prelude, an autobiographical poem. And that poet is William Wordsworth. William Wordsworth (7 April 1770 – 23 April 1850) was a major English Romantic poet who helped to launch the Romantic Age in English literature along with Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Thou shouldst be living at this hour:. England hath need of thee: she is a fen. Of stagnant waters: altar, sword, and pen,. A poet could not ...

The Diary of a Schoolkid. The interesting scraps of life in between. Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Literature: Nature in To Kill a Mockingbird. Since one of my two strongest areas is nature, I have to do the To Kill a Mockingbird task about nature. Do a research on the natural habitat of mockingbird. In your research, include the kind of flora and fauna you think exist in Maycomb and explain why the mockingbirds live in Maycomb. Have a particular preference for high places (“. Mockingbirds use dry grass and sm...

The Diary of a Schoolkid. The interesting scraps of life in between. Saturday, June 13, 2009. Nature: A Photo Montage reminiscing Pulau Semakau. This is a continuation of the previous Pulau Semakau posts. It is a collection of photos taken there some time back. Beneath the dull and deceivingly lifeless facade, it is actually home to more than what the mind can picture. Enjoy! Second picture from the top: A close-up picture of a fiddler crab, showing the stalked eyes and the predominantly larger right claw.

The Diary of a Schoolkid. The interesting scraps of life in between. Saturday, February 6, 2010. Laptops in green technology. It's surprising for me to talk about technology; I think I was influenced by the talk and use of laptops in my class. Mercury and arsenic free. Thin and light; portable. 5 hour battery life. 120GB hard drive, a lot of storage space. Not very affordable for the mainstream (1499 USD). Light (about 1.5kg) and small, portable. No toxic heavy metals. Very cheap, being less than $200.
