The symbol of Mauritius is the dodo bird, Here I am in front of the Natural History Museum in downtown Port Louis, which has a small collection of these statue that people have decorated to depict different scenes and ideas. Saturday, August 30, 2014. More Perhentians Aug 2014. Fair warning, my friends. Apparently, there is a monkey somewhere on the island of Perhentian Kecil and D'Lagoon resort is warning you. We anchored the dinghy off their shallow beach and walked through the property to a path up and over the island to a beach on the other side. Sunday, October 27, 2013. YOLO in Sagori Aug 2013. We came ashore at Sagori Island and walked across the island to the north shore. The police launch was dropping off folks to come ashore from another island. A typical home on Sagori. Friday, November 29, 2013. YOLO in Belitung, Indonesia Oct 2014. We went ashore our first full day and were met by large orange tubs of turtles that the local folks had raised and wanted us to set them back into the ocean. These turtle babies were bigger than the ones we'd paid to let loose, and these were free! We each let many of them go and guided them into the ocean again. They are so cute! Saturday, August 22, 2015. Still more Mauritius Aug 2015. Down came the twins . We have two dinghies taking up most of the space on the foredeck and the sails need a lot of room to get them to fold up nicely so we can store them in their sail bags. Another shot from above.
