You Learn Something Every Day: May 2010

http://youlearnsomethingeveryday-eponymous.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

You Learn Something Every Day. Ta ta tum tum. My name is Natalie and I live in Australia. View my complete profile. Tuesday, May 18, 2010. My ducted gas heating broke two days ago. I say broke; I got home from grocery shopping to find the house stinking of burned something or other. Plastic? I work from home, and spent the afternoon huddled in blankets in front of my computer. At first I could only get a repair man out Wednesday week, 9 days of frozen toes! Um, yes, that cools us down in summer.'. Um, du...

You Learn Something Every Day. My name is Natalie and I live in Australia. View my complete profile. Friday, January 21, 2011. A friend told me today that he read somewhere that hiccups originated from when we had gills, it is an automatic movement to make the water pass over the gills so we could get oxygen. Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Another nugget stolen shamelessly from QI; a wigwam is not the same as a teepee. A teepee is the upside-down icecream shaped leather tent of the American Indian, a wigwam is the home of the Eastern American Indian and looks more like a giant, squat beehive made of straw. You Learn Something Every Day. Fish faking the big O. My name is Natalie and I live in Australia. View my complete profile. Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Another blogger (in England) mentioned seeing a dunnock when she was collecting her morning milk from the doorstep. I had no idea what a dunnock was, so I looked it up - it is a small bird. I don't think we have them in Australia. But there you go. Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Monday, June 18, 2012. Fish faking the big O. I suppose everyone wins. Apparently not&#4...

You Learn Something New Everyday. Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Troll the Ancient Yuletide Carol. On this day I learned that to "Troll" can mean to sing aloud in a carefree way. It can mean one of two things, one delicious and one nasty sounding to me. Common preparation of a compote is a cooked dish of fresh or dried fruits, simmered whole or in pieces in a sugar syrup.

You learn something new everyday

You learn something new everyday. Sunday, October 3, 2010. Similarly my own reflections on my blog have urged me to consider my understanding of the role of the TL from information I have gained from academic readings in this course. The regular opportunity to reflect on the knowledge I have drawn from the course and my own perspective on concepts has been significant in allowing me to consider how I could as a TL most effectively support members of the school community.
