A Lure and Bass Fishing Blog by Keir Sims. More fun in the SIB, new experiences and learning curves! May 31, 2015. Or maybe it’s just not the right time of year? We will certainly be back to try again and see if we can sus out some of these offshore reefs and banks. Well I guess we couldn’t have asked for a better start or could it be the first cast curse? I much prefer to fish them on a fixed jighead, sacrilege? Maybe but they still catch me fish and after good amount of Pollock and Wrasse my 120 body w...

About me | lurethatfish
https://lurethatfish.com/about-me
A Lure and Bass Fishing Blog by Keir Sims. In 2010 I turned my interest to lure fishing after bait fishing for a few years. The idea of travelling light, being highly mobile and not having to buy bait really appeals to me. Plus I looked at it as a new challenge! Lure fishing has lead me to more and better fish than ever before! I just hope you enjoy the reports and can find some of the information useful that I provide as I learn. ordinaryangler: 25/05/15 - Bank holiday bassing
http://ordinaryangler.blogspot.com/2015/05/250515-bank-holiday-bassing.html
Hello, my name is Ian Firkins and I am a very ordinary angler. If there was a school report for fishing, mine would read "tries hard, could do better"! See below my attempts to catch big fish (well, any fish! Of various species from the rivers Trent, Derwent, Dove and Soar. Friends and people I've met along the way. Species caught to date. 25/05/15 - Bank holiday bassing. Early morning at Black Mixen Pool. One on the teaser. That proved to be the end of the action, so left the beach to the dog walkers an...

LP Lure fishing: January 2013
http://lplurefishing.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 16 January 2013. 11 Jan 2013 - Something a bit different. After 2 failed attempts I finally managed to get in the guided boat trip I booked last summer. The trip was arranged at short notice after a window in the weather appeared along with some promising tides. It was late in the season for Bass but the fishing in Cornwall in Jan can be exceptional with Cod, Pollack and Wrasse as viable alternatives should the Bass fail to show. We fished on for another half an hour trying different spots on ...

A Lure and Bass Fishing Blog by Keir Sims. Cornish Lure Festival 2015. July 10, 2015. The Cornwall Lure festival was something I was really looking forward to this year. I was a bit slow to buying the tickets due to money constraints but finally got it done and it was game on. This year I did go a little mental and me and Tim decided to head down to Cornwall a couple days before to give us some time to try and find some fish before the comp started. Tim didn’t look to happy either but I wasn’...I met Tim...

A Lure and Bass Fishing Blog by Keir Sims. June 29, 2015. Apologies to any readers for the lack of updates recently, I have been really busy and any free time I have had, you guessed it… I’ve been fishing. With not a lot to shout about. I have had my fair share of blanks though they have mainly come from the daylight hours where I have been trying to get back into my surface fishing. I then proceeded to hook a good fish just a few turns in of the handle, a good scrap ensued but the hooks pulled half way ...

A Lure and Bass Fishing Blog by Keir Sims. It’s coming together nicely! July 8, 2015. Turns out I reckon I’ve done more fishing from my SIB than I have from the shore this month! And I guess lucky to get some good weather to be able to as well! I’m really enjoying some thing new at the moment and fishing from the boat is yet another learning curve for me. A stunning male Cuckoo Wrasse taken on a Fiiish Minnow 120 25gm. Hopefully we’ll be able to see more action from this mark in the future. Enter your co...

University Angler: A Quick Check In
http://universityangler.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-quick-check-in.html
Friday, 29 May 2015. A Quick Check In. Sorry it’s been quiet for a while! I have been finishing up my exams and have been further delayed by the inevitable alcohol consumption that comes with the territory of being a University student! All good fun though, and now that I have five minutes between the cliff jumping, spear fishing, drinking and fishing sessions I thought it would be nice to drop a line on here. Introducing… Bucknasty Browns! BUCKNASTY BROWNS / Full Film. Next up, a bit of Tarpon action, s...
