Friday, December 31, 2010. Sophomores. where you at? I think we need to get the photo sophomores interested in the blog. I'd love to see what they'd post as well as give them ideas/artists/possible directions they could go. Just something I was thinking about as I read through what Chelsea has posted for all of us as well as things that may interest us personally and how helpful she was, and still is. http://kcaiphoto.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 4, 2011. From the inspiration file. So, I've seen a lot of great stuff hanging in museums in Kansas City and Chicago over the years, including some wonderful portraits of women. These are the works that never fail to instruct and inspire:. The Penitent Magdalen by El Greco, circa 1580-5, at the Nelson-Atkins. Madame Freret-Dericour by Joseph Siffred Duplessis, 1769, at the Nelson-Atkins. Interrupted Reading by Jean Baptiste Corot, 1870, at the Art Institute of Chicago. It was a good run.
