C.O.P.S. provides resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives. There is no membership fee to join C.O.P.S., for the price paid is already too high. The Club also provides college scholarships for the children of the police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty in Alameda County. The Club was founded in 1974 by Martin C. Kauffman and has grown to over 1000 active members.

The 100 Club of Austin County is a citizen-based, non-profit organization that raises funds to help pay funeral expenses, relieve mortgage or other debt, and cover educational expenses for the family of a law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty.
