Before he was saving Sandra Bullock from The Bus That Wouldn’t Slow Down, monotoning his way through being The One in the Matrix Series, or even misplacing his mind in A Scanner Darkly. Keanu Reaves was Ted “Theodore” Logan. The first Bill and Ted movie ( Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Read that sentence again. Soak it in. Five Comediennes I Have Crushes On (Who Aren’t Nasim Pedrad) | Advanced Dorks & Deconstruction

Advanced Dorks and Deconstruction. Just another WordPress.com site. Five Comediennes I Have Crushes On (Who Aren’t Nasim Pedrad). As the old saying goes, dying is easy, but comedy is hard! Writer, comedian, and actress, perhaps best known as a reoccurring panelist on Best Week Ever, Jessi Klein has that nerd chic look that is very hard to resist, as well as an acerbic wit that only makes this more difficult. A judge on Last Comic Standing and frequent panelist on Chelsea Lately, Natasha Leggero is basica...

Son of Double Feature: December 2009
http://sonofdoublefeature.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Son of Double Feature. Sunday, December 27, 2009. The Princess and The Frog. Try and remember the last great Disney animated film that didn’t begin with that jumping Pixar lamp. This will probably vary depending on your tastes. For me, it was Lilo and Stitch. Although I would consider Hercules. The Princess and the Frog. Doesn’t hurt that fact.). The story is, for delving into the rather limited Frog Princess story, rather deep, and there’s a lot of good characterization and flow. The overall m...At whic...

The NaNo Project: October 2009
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 26, 2009. The NaNo Project is related to the National Novel Writing Month. The event starts November 1st and ends November 30th. The idea is to write 75 pages (or 50,000 words) by the end of the month. You can read more about this program here. This year, NaNo WriMo came up for the first time in what feels like centuries. The timing of it all and the allure of getting an idea, months old at this point, down on paper simply clicked. So, here I am. 75 Pages. 50,000 Words. 1 Month. If anyone...

The NaNo Project: The Empty Playground
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2010/11/empty-playground.html
Thursday, November 11, 2010. A closer look at Lavender. She is a small nod to my dad. There were lavender bushes planted outside my old home in VA. This was while I was in high school. There were also cherry blossom trees planted down the street of my neighborhood. I miss those a lot. 8220;Hey, boy,” she ruffled his ears, and made sure she scratched him under his collar. “You wanna go for a walk before our super boring trip? A new iPod to take with her on her runs? Maybe A new pair of shoes…? 8220;You kn...

The NaNo Project: The End Result
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2011/02/end-result.html
Wednesday, February 2, 2011. I finished NaNo WriMo with Cat's Paw Mountain two days early, at 53,000 words. I wish I could remember everything I wrote, but I am confidant there were complete sentences in the text. somewhere. :). It makes me happy to know I have a rough draft of this one, one I've been trying to get down on paper for quite some time. There is another like this one that's been waiting in the wings much longer. I wonder if that will be this November's. Or that there are 4 lights.

The NaNo Project: The Man with the Golden Touch
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2010/11/man-with-golden-touch.html
Thursday, November 11, 2010. The Man with the Golden Touch. Warren Midas may be the Writer Favorite of this story. I dig him, and he does not put up much a fight when he's being written. Hard to tell from just one chapter, but we'll see how he measures up in the long run! 8220;Warren, right? Jeff motioned to one of the chair, and a pleasing smile peeled across his face. “Please, sit. It’s great to finally meet you.”. 8220;You too, Jeff. This is great.”. 8220;Hey, you eaten yet? The size of your head!

The NaNo Project: November 2009
http://thenanoanchoress.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 23, 2009. Since Pepita’s confession, I find my mind completely mixed, lost within its own thoughts, it struggles for a solution to question that nags me through meals, nags me through sleep, nags me at every step I take. 8220;I have chosen to kill Lope.”. Why would she tell me? She must mistake my habit for a gag - how can I possibly remain silent regarding this? To reveal me a conspirator? That I even know is punishment enough! Why would she think to take the life of another man? Shuffl...
