Rev. Denise S Creech: April 2011
http://revdenisecreech.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 21, 2011. In Webster's Dictionary the definition of resurrection. Is "a rising from the dead, or coming back to life." We are coming back to our original state, a "coming back to life." Like the rebirth of the spring flowers after a long, dark winter, the Christ within us has risen. The darkness that we had been experiencing has been replaced with the Light of God. In Charles Fillmore's Keep a True Lent. Posted by Rev. Denise S. Creech. Links to this post. Friday, April 8, 2011. Rev. Denise S Creech: July 2010

Friday, July 9, 2010. The Nature of God. In Unity we have a statement "There is one presence and one power in this world and in our lives, God the Good, omnipotent". That pretty much says it all, doesn't it? Everywhere present, all-powerful, and good. I would add that God is. I am comforted knowing that when I'm happy and joyous, God is with me; when I'm experiencing trials and tribulations, God is with me. I am never. Posted by Rev. Denise S. Creech. Links to this post. Saturday, May 28, 2011. The concept of haste makes waste being counterproductive can be traced back to the apocryphal Book of Wisdom. By Jesus Ben Sirach, which contained the line, "there is one that toileth and laboureth and maketh haste, and is so much the more behind." There is, also, a Chinese proverb on the senselessness of hurrying, "A hasty man drinks his tea with a fork.". I mention these sayings because many times when we are faced with troubles, we rush. What should we wait for? It's a wonderfu...

Sunday, March 20, 2011. A Season for Change. I don't like the word repent. I'm not sure when this started. It could have been as a child when I watched the movie Polly Anna. Of course, that was before I walked into a Unity church. The Lenten season is A Season for Change. It's a time for releasing and renewing; a time for spiritual growth and enlightenment. As we release (deny) what no longer serves us and renew (affirm) the glory of God within us, we repent. Posted by Rev. Denise S. Creech. While we are...

Rev. Denise S Creech: June 2011

Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Did you inherit your blue eyes and freckles from your father? We all have physical characteristics that we've inherited from our parents. But, have you thought about what you've inherited from your true parent? Our true parent, called by many names (Source, Infinite Intelligence, The Almighty, or God), has passed to us in our DNA all that It is. We are God's heirs. What does it mean to be an heir of God? So, what have we inherited? Jesus discovered and understood his own divinity,...

Rev. Denise S Creech: February 2012

Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, the first day of the Lenten season. In early church history, Lent was observed as a period of time when the whole community prayed and fasted with the catechumens - people converting to Christianity who received training in doctrine and discipline before baptism on Easter. Those who were already baptized prepared to renew their baptismal promises at Easter, thus joining the catechumens in seeking to deepen their own conversion. 3 Do some self-evaluat...

Wednesday, April 4, 2012. In a few days it will be Good Friday. In the scripture Jesus' final words were "It is finished", and then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. Jesus raised himself up to God. He released his spirit from his human body; he crossed out of bondage of human limitations. We have done some self-evaluation and made a decision to release one or some things that we feel would make our lives better; that would help us on our spiritual paths. Posted by Rev. Denise S. Creech. MY CURREN...
