A Big Hard Sun: September 2008
http://abighardsun.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
A Big Hard Sun. Road And Dirt Racing In And Around Chicago. Saturday, September 13, 2008. Mountain biking, kids. It's magical. Saturday, September 6, 2008. This is the time of year when rumors fly about where everyone, from ProTour guys to the local Cat4/5 scene, is going to end up next year. There was some speculation about what would happen with some local mid-level amateurs after a mass fallout with a person in a leadership position. A smaller pro team, paying a pair of super nice guys like Jonny Cant...

roaming city streets: Marriages and Bike Races
http://roaming-city-streets.blogspot.com/2009/07/marriages-and-bike-races.html
Post Bike and Build, I will embark upon a career in Architecture. Sunday, July 19, 2009. Marriages and Bike Races. Rob and Lauren got married on Saturday! They are classmates from U of IL, and they are among the 36 people who studied abroad in Versailles with me for junior year. It is beyond a little surreal as they are my age! Apparently this course is notorious for being quite dangerous. One corner in front of the Burger King is called the BK Stacker because of bottleneck corner. We checked it ...Green...

roaming city streets: Commuter Bike #2
http://roaming-city-streets.blogspot.com/2009/07/commuter-bike-2.html
Post Bike and Build, I will embark upon a career in Architecture. Friday, July 31, 2009. This saddle has seen better days. The trick is not to forget how the pieces go together . I'm more accustomed to the modern seatpost design, and it was rather unnerving to see so many different parts going into clamping a saddle. Also, they are so corroded that I wonder if it's even safe to use them ? Long live the well maintained commuter :). July 31, 2009 at 11:51 AM. August 1, 2009 at 6:38 AM. Cheers, bchan :D.

roaming city streets: Bonfire!
http://roaming-city-streets.blogspot.com/2009/08/bonfire.html
Post Bike and Build, I will embark upon a career in Architecture. Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Liam has a tradition of building giant fires with the wood tossed from the Court Theatre stage set. It's also a goodbye get together for him, and soon to be myself. Soon the evening was winding down and we still had a giant pile of wood left. So Liam threw the rest on to the fire and a giant conflagration ensued. Earlier on, Miles had amused us by attempting (and somewhat successfully? All in all, a good evening.

roaming city streets: Last Day at the Med!
http://roaming-city-streets.blogspot.com/2009/07/last-day-at-med.html
Post Bike and Build, I will embark upon a career in Architecture. Sunday, July 12, 2009. Last Day at the Med! Admittedly, I had romanticized working at the Medici a bit because it is such a fixture of my childhood and beyond. And then I got a lesson in real life. Do they think they have some kind of a reprieve just because they have a cute smile? Goodbye, Medici, where Obama eats. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. A Big Hard Sun: May 2008
http://abighardsun.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
A Big Hard Sun. Road And Dirt Racing In And Around Chicago. Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Hills = good, pan flat = bad. That semi-sentence could serve as a short but very accurate description of how my racing abilities pan out. At Quad Cities, the furthest I moved up was roughly halfway through the field, only to get caught in a crash, bounce off the "cage", and barely make it back onto the tail end of the field. Thursday, May 22, 2008. Well, as it turns out, people decided to stop working smoothly, efficiently...

http://abighardsun.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
A Big Hard Sun. Road And Dirt Racing In And Around Chicago. Thursday, October 30, 2008. I very rarely comment on any of my political beliefs, in person or through my blog. That said, today is an exception, and one that I hope, in this highly contentious voting year, will be forgiven. At lunch today, I heard two statements that I found to be, well, wrong. I should point out that the only issue that I really. Care about is the environmental policy that the two candidates are bringing to the table. Obam...
