everybody JECHEON tonight: "Let's Go!"
http://everybodyjecheon.blogspot.com/2009/09/lets-go.html
Saturday, September 12, 2009. Today was epic. We were picked up at 9:30am by Kim and her husband (and the two other teachers from Ha So). All we knew was that we were going to see the caves and eat bimbimbop. The rest was a mystery. Language barriers have a tendency to create mysteries. At each attraction, however, Kim and her husband stayed behind. They just met us (me, Ian and the teachers) with the car wherever the attraction ended. It was weird and a little parental, but very kind of them. A tourism ...

everybody JECHEON tonight: December 2009

Thursday, December 31, 2009. Highlights from Tokyo Disney Resort. It's a nice park and it's very interesting because it's an inexact replica of Disneyland California. If you're only going to make it to one park in Tokyo, this is not it. It's ridiculously crowded and it takes so long to do anything that it takes away from the experience; plus, there's very little that's truly new and original to Tokyo Disneyland. It's a Japanese expression that is close to "I did it/yay! The Holiday Jack's Skellington (Ni...

everybody JECHEON tonight: May 2010
http://everybodyjecheon.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 31, 2010. Ian and I had a meeting with Julia this morning. She was in great form this morning, laying the full weight of her company's financial problems on us. Then she scribbled some math regarding our severance, airfare and remaining three months. She asked us (and not hypothetically) how she should find the money to pay for that. Ian made doenjang jjigae tonight for dinner. He put purple sweet potatoes in it and it had a pretty cool effect. Sunday, May 30, 2010. A Productive Seoul Trip.

everybody JECHEON tonight: October 2009
http://everybodyjecheon.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 30, 2009. Today started out feeling pretty American. We had coffee (the first batch a little weak, the second a bit strong). We'll have to figure out a happy medium, but it was fantastic to have it. It was another crazy Halloween unit at school. The kids seem to really love the break from their books (and the candy)! These boys can be pretty strange. but they had fun. Ian the Wheel of Fortune contestant. Me with my burglar mask giving myself cat ears. Well, it's blood orange dot time!

everybody JECHEON tonight: January 2010
http://everybodyjecheon.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 31, 2010. The weather has been pretty nice this weekend and Ian and I made the most of it by walking around. We didn't bring the camera, unfortunately. We've gotten out of the habit since it's been so cold. I'll be keeping it in my purse from now on. We got up this morning and I talked to my brother for a little while; I'm glad I got to talk to him, since it's his birthday. Happy Birthday, Rob! We wish we could be there and celebrate with you. Saturday, January 30, 2010. A Pick Me Up.

everybody JECHEON tonight: Goodbye Sunday
http://everybodyjecheon.blogspot.com/2010/07/goodbye-sunday.html
Monday, July 19, 2010. Today is our last Sunday in Korea. We spent it cleaning (so that Thursday will be a cinch) and then we met Ben and Amy at Mr. Pizza for one last western restaurant dinner. After gorging on pizza and crappy "American" salad, we went back their place, watched Wall-E and drank gin and tonics (because we're classy grown ups). But, change is what makes the world go 'round. July 19, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Change is always scary, but you both will be just fine. It will be exciting. Dispatches f...

everybody JECHEON tonight: Ugly Bread
http://everybodyjecheon.blogspot.com/2010/07/ugly-bread.html
Wednesday, July 21, 2010. I made some banana zucchini bread tonight. I had intended this loaf to be a goodbye gift to Chun wha and her family. But, I overfilled the pan and it got a little too fat. Luckily, I made two loaves worth of batter. So, we'll bring the ugly loaf over to Ben and Amy's on Thursday and I'll give the (hopefully) better looking one to Chun wha. July 21, 2010 at 4:34 AM. First of all, I think the bread looks great. It has character. July 22, 2010 at 12:38 AM. The Beginning of the Lasts.

everybody JECHEON tonight: February 2010
http://everybodyjecheon.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 28, 2010. Spontaneous Partying with Korean Elderlies. Okay, not all of them were elderly. When Ian and I decided to walk down and check out the tech stores opening near Emart, there was quite a bit of commotion coming from a street corner near our complex. We heard what sounded like noribang (karaoke) and general party noise. I initially thought that it might be from a grand opening. There is a lot of pomp and circumstance for grand openings here. Most likely, they were celebrating tomor...
