Monday, November 7, 2016. In response to "Standing Their Ground" by Mary Kate Frank in the October, 31 2016 Upfront. The Dakota Access pipeline. They say it runs through sacred Indian grounds. Pump a half million barrels of oil. Pump money to local economies. Pump independence into the U.S. But what would happen if it? Dripped onto divine artifacts. Dripped into the rushing Missouri river. Dripped into the porous soil. They won’t let that happen. They won’t let history repeat itself. It will never leak.

He waited at the gate. His trip in mind. Thinking of all the sights he would see. And not of what the other people thought of he. They said “enjoy your flight”. He placed his things in the overhead. Took out his phone and a book to be read. He dialed his mother. Before the plane left the ground. 8220;Im safe”. I want to feel safe.
