The Clubman Builders Resource. This site is dedicated to the Locost 7 - a small home built sports car (also known as a clubman) which is similar in many respects to a Lotus 7. The construction is based on the book BUILD YOUR OWN SPORTS CAR FOR AS LITTLE AS £250 by Ron Champion:. Firstly, let me say, it is NOT possible to build your own sports car for roughly AUD$625 (UK£250), unless you manage to get nearly all of the parts and materials for free! If I can do as well as he, I will be pleased!

The start point was at Belmont Park car park. The weather was perfect, being a mild summers day. Quite a turn out - I counted 14 clubbies at the meet point, though not all went on the run. Personalised Plates

Not really a mod as such, but my family chipped together for my 50th birthday (yes, I am now officially an old fart! And paid for these personalised number plates. Although I would have preferreed "OGGIE", this was already taken along with a number of variations, leaving "O66IE" as the closest I could get. Still, I think they are kinda cool! 200SX Bumper Repair

The front bumper was cracked on the drivers side when purchased, so required repair before painting. I have never previously attempted fibreglassing, though had observed my father doing some small fibreglassing jobs on a number of occassions. I purchased a fibreglass repair kit, read the instructions to refresh my memory and laid some chopped strand behind the break, then carefully wetted it out with resin and finally rolled out the excess and left it to harden. Stock Power: 147kW (197 HP) @ 6000 RPM (flywheel). Stock Torque: 265 Nm (196 lb/ft) @ 4000 RPM. Stock Boost: 6-7 PSI.
