Posted by windy dougall. December 13, 2011. All images Jordan Tate. To see the images with movement (image loading, marching ants, wha wha? Please visit his fabulous website. The below Aperture editiorial quote by Leslie A. Martin is stolen from his website). 8220;Jordan Tate’s latest work wrestles with one of the key contemporary preoccupations of our field: photography qua photography. In other words: How do we see? What are suitable subjects for photography? And what are viable means of image-making?

Bernd and Hilla Becher | Art Works Archive

Bernd and Hilla Becher. Posted by windy dougall. September 15, 2010. Since I wrote about Jeff Brouws yesterday and gave a shout out to the Bechers, (or rather, a bit of a critical comparison) I thought it only fair to feature them today. And it’s not really fair of me to criticize the couple who made the genre famous, now is it? Ok, one image, just for good measure…Although, it might be a bit out of context, and a little wrong, to post only a single image of theirs. Still…. Bernd and Hilla Becher. Leslie...

Aaron Gustafson | Art Works Archive
https://artworksarchive.wordpress.com/2010/09/25/aaron-gustafson
Posted by windy dougall. September 25, 2010. Aaron Gustafson is a young photographer who received his Mfa from Parsons in New York. His Bonus Baby series cracked me up at first. Now it makes me wonder if I’m missing something tragic that may have happened. Either way, I love the old family photos and the cutout of a person you expect to be there. Very inventive. Jeff Brouws | Art Works Archive
https://artworksarchive.wordpress.com/2010/09/15/jeff-brouws
Posted by windy dougall. September 15, 2010. From the series “Some Americans”. From Early Work in the “Highway Landscape” series. I hope so. Just to mix it up, and diverge ever-so-slightly from the Windy-show that has become this blog, I’m choosing to show not my favorites of his images, but a selection of pieces that are just plain pretty. Is that o.k? Not that I’m saying the only value in these photos lies in the aesthetic, but they are quite beautiful, aren’t they? Check more of his work out here.
