http://1982topps.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Card-by-Card through the 1982 Topps Set. Thursday, October 30, 2014. Card #123: Danny Goodwin. Has it really been a week since I posted? Travel, work, and other life events. Have conspired to limit me this month. I'll keep on it, though. Who Can It Be Now? Was born on September 2, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri. His family moved to Oakland, California. For several years before returning to the Midwest to Peoria, Illinois. In Peoria, Goodwin became a local legend. A funny thing happened, though, on the way ...

1978 Baseball: January 2015
http://1978toppsbaseball.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
This blog will be a card by card run through the 1978 Topps Baseball set. Friday, January 30, 2015. 1978 Topps Baseball #255 - Jerry Reuss. Jerry Reuss had shoulder problems in 1978. He missed almost three weeks in June. Jerry started a game in late June but couldn't get out of the first inning. Reuss then missed another 18 days. Jerry's ERA was above 5.00 for most of the season, which was uncharacteristic for him. 3-2, 4.90 ERA in 23 games (12 starts). Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Went 2 for 3 with an R...

Orioles Card "O" the Day: Jeffrey Hammonds, 1998 Collector's Choice #313
http://oriolescards.blogspot.com/2015/08/jeffrey-hammonds-1998-collectors-choice.html
Orioles Card "O" the Day. An intersection of two of my passions: baseball cards and the Baltimore Orioles. Updated daily? Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Jeffrey Hammonds, 1998 Collector's Choice #313. A few thoughts about this card:. It's always interesting to see card photos from 1997 featuring the "24" decal on the Orioles' helmets. Of course, that was a sign of support for outfielder Eric Davis, who was battling colon cancer during that season. This could be one of two games: June 30, 1997. Or July 2, 1997.

1993 Topps: #467 Lee Stevens
http://1993topps.blogspot.com/2015/08/467-lee-stevens.html
Celebrating the 20-year anniversary of the first set I ever collected. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Lee Stevens is rocking a sweatshirt underneath his jersey, so I'm guessing it's pretty chilly wherever he is. (Cleveland? Maybe that accounts for the near-total lack of fans in the bleachers behind him. Mark Snipp" sounds like a Harry Potter character. He needs a more outlandish first name though. I'd suggest Maurelius Snipp. But never had a walkoff homer. On This Date in 1993:. August 13. Johnny Gaudrea...

1978 Baseball: May 2015

This blog will be a card by card run through the 1978 Topps Baseball set. Saturday, May 23, 2015. 1978 Topps Baseball #291 - Gary Ross. This is a surprising card in the 1978 set. Gary Ross pitched his last major league game on July 8, 1977. There is no transaction record on baseball reference for Ross in 1978 and he didn't pitch in the minors. It appears that he had an injury in 1977 and wasn't able to come back. Thursday, May 21, 2015. 1978 Topps Baseball #290 - Willie Horton. Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

For pitchers Woodie Fryman and Bill Caudill before the 1978 season. The Reds were in the running for Vida Blue, but they settled for Bonham instead. Bonham had a great start to the 1978 season. On June 7 he was 7-0 with a 2.60 ERA. Bonham was shut down for the season. In mid September. After the 1978 season Bill had elbow surgery.

Horizontal Heroes: The 1960 Topps Set: #5 Wally Moon
http://1960toppsblog.blogspot.com/2015/08/5-wally-moon.html
The Topps Baseball set from 1960 stands as their last full horizontal set and one of the most colorful ever produced. It's also the first set I actively 'chased' as a young collector. I hope you will enjoy checking out these great cards as much as I will enjoy posting them. Please leave a comment or criticism if you feel the need. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Wally Moon Los Angeles Dodgers. Moon's Baseball Reference Bullpen page. Wally Moon has a website: The Official Site of Wally Moon. Old school Oriole ...

Celebrating the 20-year anniversary of the first set I ever collected. Wednesday, March 25, 2015. 396 Rich Sauveur (Gold). The piping down the sides of Rich Sauveur's pants is juuuuust a bit thinner than his stirrups, which is probably driving the type-A personalities among you crazy. If Topps' most recent career highlight for you is a seven-year-old minor league shutout, that strikes me as the definition of "damning with faint praise". 1 He debuted with the Pirates on July 1, 1986. On This Date in 1993:.

1965 Topps Baseball: Dick Bertell (#27)
http://65topps.blogspot.com/2016/05/dick-bertell-27.html
Yes, I have too many blogs, but at this point what's one more? This is my 2nd favorite set from the 1960s (after the 1967 set). I'm currently at 40% and counting. - 17-OCT-2015. Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Dick Bertell’s final card was in the 1966 set, but since that is one of the 6 dozen cards I am missing from that set, this card will have to do. Dick was signed by the Cubs in 1957, and played in the minors until making his debut in September 1960. Bertell passed away in 1999 at age 64. Height='206' id='Ima...

1965 Topps Baseball: December 2016

Yes, I have too many blogs, but at this point what's one more? This is my 2nd favorite set from the 1960s (after the 1967 set). I'm currently at 40% and counting. - 17-OCT-2015. Thursday, December 29, 2016. Final Card - Ted Wills. Here is the final card for Ted Wills (#488). I wonder why he even had a card in this set, since his last action was in 1962. His only MLB experience after 1962 was 15 games in the first 2 months of 1965, but that was with the White Sox, not the Reds. Labels: .debut: 1959. Billy...
