http://thedorkreview.blogspot.com/2009/02/batmans-utility-belt.html
Saturday, February 7, 2009. This post is dedicated to the thing that holds up a hero's pants. For Batman it is his Utility Belt with it's numerous gadgets. Batman's Utility Belt has always had special place in my Dork heart. Fun Fact (clipped from Wikipedia):. A signed Batman Utility Belt prop from the 1960's Batman TV show. The first Batman Utility Belt Toy from Ideal released in1966. Recently this sold for $8,000 on Ebay. At another auction a mint condition one sold for $16,000. Shouldn't be high art!

robotGEEK'S Cult Cinema: Review: The Expendables 3
http://robotgeekscultcinema.blogspot.com/2015/07/review-expendables-3.html
Review: The Expendables 3. Directed by: Patrick Hughes. Watching this 3rd installment in the Expendables. When they announced that Simon West would be taking over as director, I got excited again. Hey, Con-Air. It didn't do anywhere near the business it should have, yet somehow a 3rd film was greenlit. When this 3rd film was announced, they brought on yet a new director in the form of Patrick Hughes, this time from the indie world, who had impressed Stallone so much with his previous film, Red Hill.

robotGEEK'S Cult Cinema: Review: Conan The Barbarian (2011)
http://robotgeekscultcinema.blogspot.com/2015/07/review-conan-barbarian-2011.html
Review: Conan The Barbarian (2011). Directed by: Marcus Nispel. When I began seeing the promotional material for this reboot of Conan. I was immediately turned off, first and foremost by the casting of Jason Momoa as the titular Conan. Being the age that I am, I grew up on Arnold's Conan. Films, and to see someone who's a quarter the size of Arnold up there portraying Conan. Just didn't do it for me. And I wasn't a Game of Thrones. I keep going back and forth with my feelings on Conan. Film directed by J...

robotGEEK'S Cult Cinema: Bad Movie Night: American Hunter
http://robotgeekscultcinema.blogspot.com/2015/08/bad-movie-night-american-hunter.html
Bad Movie Night: American Hunter. In my constant quest to find obscure bad movies that defy logic and to most of the world's shock, become quite entertaining in their attempt at serious filmmaking, I often come back to Indonesian filmmaker Arizal. If you don't already know, he's the guy responsible for the amazing Final Score. And the totally bizarre and batshit crazy The Stabilizer. So when I'm hunting, digging, and searching for that WTF? Doesn't reach the level of absurd that made The Stabilizer.

robotGEEK'S Cult Cinema: Bad Movie Night: The Stabilizer
http://robotgeekscultcinema.blogspot.com/2015/05/bad-movie-night-stabilizer.html
Bad Movie Night: The Stabilizer. Bad Movie Night flyer I made up for our screening of The Stabilizer. After the amazing Final Score. Blew me away, I felt it only necessary to do a little more research on this director known as Arizal. I soon discovered that the guy is pretty prolific, with only a handful of films being made in English, or starring a Caucasian actor. With the few that were readily available at my disposal, The Stabilizer. Action sequences that Arizal filled Final Score. Seems to know how ...

Collected Cinema: December 2012

Sunday, December 16, 2012. Django Month: Django the Bastard (1969). AKA: The Strangers Gundown or Django the Avenger. Now this is a cracking little Spaghetti western and probably my favourite of all the Django. Sequels". Though there's little connection to the original film - don't expect any machine-gun action here - there is a strong similarity in tone that makes it a good cinematic soul mate. And if you're a fan of Clint Eastwood's High Plains Drifter. I get that they wanted to make a contrast with wh...

Collected Cinema: October 2013
http://collectedcinema.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 7, 2013. Hey everyone, so you're probably wondering where I've been for the past couple of months. Well, long story short I had a baby (or rather my gorgeous wife did) called Timothy. He's a little bundle of joy and I love him to bits but the downside is that he has eaten up all my movie watching and reviewing time. I will get back to this blog eventually but right now I need to put it on hold while I re-adjust my life. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Other blogs you should really be reading.

Collected Cinema: March 2013
http://collectedcinema.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 22, 2013. Analysis of a flop: Speed Racer (2008). Boring story time. Stick with me. I was in a shop one day buying up a bunch of used DVDs and I noticed a copy of Speed Racer. But I'm always kind of curious about expensive, messy flops. I'm the kind of person who's equally quite happy to sit and watch car-crash movies like Street Fighter. Or Super Mario Brothers. Follow ups, this was probably going to be even worse. How Wrong. I. Was. Makes no attempt to make anything realistic so this neve...
