Wednesday, November 30, 2011. This is a cross-member supporting the nose of the rear differential. The rust developed between the cross-member and the outer shell. After cleaning I've used a rust converter from Eastwood. I've made a pattern and fabricated a piece of metal to match the missing piece. I was tough to weld there; also the metal was thin and corroded inside. After a coat of self-itching primer and 2 coats of paint. The green is not matching but the spare wheel will cover it. Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Let's start with a nice picture of a massive and beautiful engine. The front end had knocks and was feeling loose. The pads were extremely worn, then the caliper was almost frozen. I had to shave the pads; they were oversized. If I've installed a new rotor it would have been even worse. The sway bar links and shocks needed to be replaced. I've installed new Bilstein shocks. Front end done. Next will be some rust undercarriage repair. Posted by Phil Caron.
