Our life on the road! Laquo; But it’s a DRY heat! Mrs Calabash on tour. A week of sunrises! On July 3, 2015. It was dark when we left Moapa Valley, NV last week, so we got to watch the sun rise as we traveled. The rig rolled just fine, and we enjoyed an easy day of 255 miles before we stopped at the rest area in Scipio, UT for the day and night. After getting up so early, we slept for 3 hours once we arrived! Saturday was another early morning, and we rolled 301 miles to the WalMart in Blackfoot, ID.

Our life on the road! Laquo; 3rd annual Cole family reunion! On August 14, 2015. Thank you for 93 blog views last Friday! That is a record high! Happy early birthday to our daughters last Friday! We celebrated with a meal and of course ice cream cake and imaginary candles! It’s been a few years since we had a barbarian meal (no plates or utensils), and we were hungry for cake, so after supper we didn’t wait for plates, and just dug in with our forks! When I got up and looked out the window, I saw why!

Our life on the road! Work, work, work on the trailer. That was most of Friday and Saturday. We went back to the asparagus patch and Dad rototilled it since there was so much grass growing amongst the asparagus. The lady that helped us harvest it last week brought over a homemade strawberry rhubarb pie! It was a delicious treat for our work! Also being Memorial Day weekend, the greeters were military veterans. Monday morning we attended a Memorial Day ceremony and re-enactment at the cemetery. In went th...

Our life on the road! Laquo; Mrs. Calabash on tour. Where the slide is, Yan? On July 17, 2015. There were 95 registered entrants at the Two Harbors Heritage Days car show last Saturday. We were parked next to a 56 Ford Fairline and enjoyed getting to know it’s owner, Mike. He is a participant in many car shows, and we remember seeing his car up here before. At the end of the parade, there was about 2 pounds of candy left! She also won the trophy for traveling the longest distance for the car show! The on...

Our life on the road! Laquo; First and Last. Where the slide is, Yan? On July 24, 2015. Friday morning’s breakfast was delicious, as I ordered veggie nachos! My granddaughters introduced me to that delicacy last summer. Mmm, nacho chips with cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, cucumbers, and cheese, served with salsa! We discovered a MSRA (Minnesota Street Rod Association) car show just down the street, so we took Mrs Calabash! Sunday was my grandmother’s 97th birthday! Happy Birthday Mama Gina! I couldn...

Our life on the road! Laquo; She graduated! But it’s a DRY heat! Home in the HEAT! On June 19, 2015. With all the rig trouble lately, John had said that we could go to a resort to calm my nerves. Our daughter’s “resort de Andrea” was the perfect place to recover for the past two weeks! You know what they say, that fish and house guests stay to stink after 3 days, so after two weeks I’m sure Andrea is ready for a resort, or at least to have her house back! We also got our picture taken by a passing car!

Our life on the road! Laquo; A week of sunrises! Mrs Calabash on tour. On July 10, 2015. It was great getting to be with all of our Little Falls family. Our great granddaughters gave us homemade strawberry blueberry jam! We all had a good time visiting, but John’s favorite part was our daughter Jeannie’s spaghetti! Of course she made him key lime pie for dessert, and we also had birthday cake to celebrate our youngest great granddaughter’s 10th birthday! The gifts of Spirit are at the end of that passage...

Our life on the road! Laquo; Get me to the church on time! Home in the HEAT! On June 12, 2015. Last time we stayed with our daughter while the rig was being worked on it took 8 weeks. This time so far it’s been 1 week, and the rig is still in the shop. We found out that the hydraulic line that runs the fan broke, which contributed to our overheating. The hoses and belts are being replaced, and the slide still needs to be fixed – again. Can you believe it? As we were leaving, as if the night couldn’...

Our life on the road! When the alarm clock beeps, John gets up. I guess that’s the way is supposed to be, but I like to lay there a few minutes before I get out of bed. The Bible instructs us to “do all things without complaining” (Philippians 2:14a,NKJV), so I don’t complain, but I do move slowly! I thank God for waking me up that morning and for the sleep that He gave me that night, and I ask for the strength to get up and go. All morning I felt inadequate, and therefore was a grouch all day! That nigh...

Our life on the road! Laquo; 71 for John! 3rd annual Cole family reunion! On August 7, 2015. Before we start on the memories of this past week, here are videos and a picture that didn’t get into last week’s blog due to technical difficulties. I hope they work this time…. John opening his birthday gift from his oldest daughter. At the V.A. appointment last week, the doctor that saw John was related to his 3rd grade and 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Quanbeck! From there, the whole weekend was a blur of F-U-N!
