Ramblings of a traveling soul. May 24, 2011. Today I learned you have to be a sponge when traveling be open to anything and everything. Don’t go in with too many expectations and you will be pleasantly surprised. Also, don’t take too many pictures. I know this seems to go against every travelers instinct since they want to remember everything. Ramblings of a traveling soul. May 26, 2011. Today we woke up with a mission to pursue. We promptly ate breakfast and headed out to explore the nearby trails where we will be collecting specimen in the very near future. I was bombarded with species names and other information, but I really enjoyed exercising my mind as well as my body at the same time. Zac on the stairs of death. Ramblings of a traveling soul. May 27, 2011. Today we hiked to Middleham Falls. Total, the hike was about 12 miles but it felt like 24 miles because of all the steep inclines and stairs. About halfway through the hike I heared an haunting call that turned out to be a Mountain Whistler. Their calls are erie and gave me chills.
