The Trite Stuff: The First Step
http://thetritestuff.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-first-step.html
Friday, February 8, 2013. Since you don't know what you can accomplish until you try, I've decided suddenly to launch a single-purpose blog, dedicated to the ruthless and wanton panning of the myriad "wise sayings" that are posted, pinned, and otherwise propagated on the interwebs. It seemed fitting to begin with this one. Who will also be posting here) about the merits of having multiple platforms for writing, not to mention non de plumes (you can call me Al). The Trite Stuff: It Might Have Been
http://thetritestuff.blogspot.com/2013/02/it-might-have-been.html
Saturday, February 9, 2013. It Might Have Been. Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these - It might have been." John Greenleaf Whittier. It is true that when something does not happen to which we were looking forward, we are not happy about the situation. However, it is equally true that when something does not happen that we were dreading, we are relieved. It might have been . that a mother died instead of living through an ordeal. It might have been. Maybe not so sad after all!

The Trite Stuff: Race (regarding skin color)
http://thetritestuff.blogspot.com/2013/08/race-regarding-skin-color.html
Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Race (regarding skin color). Racism" is a word that would, truly, make no sense if one really thought about it. While the term "race" has been used to separate social categories (originally based on location) since the 1700s, that does not make it any more accurate when one is really referring to something as simple as the quantity of melanin in one's skin. I don't know about you, but I belong to the human race. December 10, 2015 at 5:14 AM. Children are children at conception.

Words in Their Natural Habitat: January 2015
http://wordhabitat.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Words in Their Natural Habitat. Saturday, January 24, 2015. The Saints that were Never Born. In Heaven with the Father, praying for us down here. Those we've never known alive but who still linger near. We know some day we'll see them in answer to their prayers. Because they've learned to love us from their Father who always cares. And we love them back and wait to see them on that morn. When we meet in Heaven the Saints that were never born. So many were not wanted and as martyrs they died.

Words in Their Natural Habitat: Day 39: Pot Pie, Stew, or Haggis
http://wordhabitat.blogspot.com/2014/12/day-39-pot-pie-stew-or-haggis.html
Words in Their Natural Habitat. Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Day 39: Pot Pie, Stew, or Haggis. Pot pie should be a microcosm of the order of the universe. An encrusted mixture of meat and vegetables in a stew,. And baked until a golden-brown, at least on the top edges,. It contains all of the elements to make and sustain life. It gets flipped over quickly on the plate bottoms up face down,. A position we take all too infrequently but should emulate,. Lifting it off and scooping the innards away separately,.

Words in Their Natural Habitat. Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Three days curled up. Three days curled up like a baby mouse in a nest. The loudest sound is "shh - don't bother daddy". But i only hear it by osmosis, as a dream-script. From the inside of a percale marshmallow. With only brief naps of awake, eyes still closed. And the occasional snore-like responses. Water" "later" "your mother" "huh? Commercials on the 24-hour dream channel. Once my absence is fully accepted as fact. Three days curled up.
