France and Italy 2012. Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Sunday - Cinque Terre. On Saturday we drove over to the Cinque Terre (Five Lands) area, staying in Rapallo. Cinque Terre is a group of five little Italian villages along the steep rigorous mountainous coast on the Mediterranean Sea. The total distance between all five is only about 7 miles and you can hike them over several days. There is little car access but local trains and water ferries link them best. You will notice the four men and how swave we have become. All the cool French men wear scarves. yes, thats us :-). Gaspacho with aspargras. yummy. All of us from the bike trip. First pasta in Italy, wow can they cook! The market in SanRemo. Can you believe in the market, 1000 Rolex's all for under $10 bucks. They are serious about their cheese.

France and Italy 2012. Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Venice on Monday - Tuesday. Monday am we drove from SanRemo down on the Mederitian across the top of Italy to Venice on the Eastern coast of the country. The drive was about 4 hours and again hectic. (We won't do that again. too fast with risks not wanted. or needed.). No cars in Venice as you probably know. We parked at the airport on the mainland and got a private water taxi from the airport to our hotel on the Grand Canal. This place is fun!
