We are a group of curious 5 year olds at Riwaka School who are learning to paddle our own waka. Thursday, 17 November 2016. A visit from a rock pool expert. We were so lucky to have a visit from Marine Educator Richard de Hamal today. He spoke to us about the creatures commonly found in rock pools and what they eat. Sea anemone close their feelers up to swallow plankton. Crabs have 10 legs and eat dead things at the bottom of the rockpool. Sponges eat plankton too. Limpets cling to the rock and scrape.

Room 10 blog 2016. Wednesday, 2 November 2016. We finished off our inquiry into the idea of "Competition" with work on the Thinkers Keys. The last key we did was the construction key. We worked with room 9 on this. Students tried to innovate on different types of sports equipment. They designed and then constructed some thing new- here are some pictures of the work taken as the students shared their work with each other. Posted by Tony Austin.
