A little larger than the entire universe. 梁:香港這樣的一個地方,為甚麼讓你覺得值得寫下去? 董:不時有外來的朋友問我:為甚麼一直寫香港?香港有甚麼值得寫?特別是那些地區性的題材,小圈子式的人物群,相對於整個世界來說,是那麼的瑣碎、微不足道。但我的想法是,我不要去寫那些表面看來十分宏大的題材。相反,我希望能在看似微小的事情上建立一個模式。這個模式建基於一些並不宏大的地區性事件,但內裡卻同時蘊含著普遍的、世界性的意義。看似是茶杯裡的風波,其實可能產生蝴蝶效應。發生在本土的事,定必有其世界性。 梁:對,人們普遍覺得香港沒有甚麼值得寫,甚至有人會問,為甚麼要用那麼多廣東話,但有趣的是,其他地方的作家不會受到相同的質問。別的作家寫自己的城市、用自己的語言就是地方特色,寫香港、用香港地道的語言卻被指為偏狹。 董:第三部曲全名叫做《物種源始.貝貝重生》,其中的上半部稱為《學習年代》,下半部暫名為《和平年代的戰爭》。在上半部...梁:這就完成了你通過小說參與社會的景象,因為Second Life就好像是一個小說世界。 訂閱: 文章 (Atom).

A little larger than the entire universe. 為甚麼要寫長篇小說?——答黎紫書《告別的年代》. 黎紫書沒有問過我這個問題。至少沒有直接問過。但讀黎紫書的《告別的年代》,幾乎每一頁、每一行都聽到她在問這個問題——為甚麼要寫長篇?這個問題又同時分為兩個:為甚麼要寫這部長篇?以及:為甚麼要寫長篇小說?黎紫書在小說的後記中說,寫長篇是「處心積慮」但同時又「羞於啟齒」的一回事。我十分明白這樣的心情。這絕不是出於不必要的謙虛,但也不是因為自信不足。那更大程度上是時代的使然。我還要說得更直接嗎?其實大家都知道,長篇小說的時代已經過去。所以,上述的問題其實應該是:為甚麼還要寫長篇? 黎紫書的後記肯定是「處心積慮」的,她肯定把這個問題前前後後想過通透。她一步一步地提出了好幾個寫長篇的理由。由最表面的理由開始,六年前她因為目睹小說家「大哥哥」駱以軍對寫長篇的焦慮(而這焦慮又跟我正在寫長篇有關),自己的寫作心態也慢慢地從遊戲變成認真&#...但事情顯然不是這麼簡單。黎紫書接著又說:「如果我不說,這世上所有的嚴肅小說家將不會知曉...但事情還不止於此。往後黎紫書再次回到...
