Joyce Valenza and Doug Johnson have written a “can’t miss” article for School Library Journal entitled, “Things That Keep Us Up At Night”. Find it at http:/ www.schoollibraryjournal.com/article/CA6699357.html. These things that keep Joyce and Doug awake at night are likely to keep most of us awake, no matter what type of library we work in or use. Times are changing — are we? 8230;fronting the boundaries…. Monthly Archives: August 2009. August 10, 2009. What was your favorite or least favorite Thing? What was challenging for you? What did you learn? What new technologies will you use in your library? My favorite, of course, was LibraryThing. Because I’m doing so much. Besides those mentioned above, another new thing for me was Google Docs Forms, which I definitely will use, particularly for in-house polling, and nings – although I’m not sure I’ll have much u...August 10, 2009.

Things to Shake a Stick At: February 2008

Things to Shake a Stick At. Confusing myself, one Thing at a time. Saturday, February 16, 2008. T8a: How Headfones got her name. Thing 8 is going to require multiple posts because there are all kinds of new tools I'm supposed to experience and sample. So at Picture Trail I created this lovely slideshow:. These were no ordinary headphones. These were huge, 70's style headphones that put the blue ones in my slide show to shame. They weighed as much as my daughter. Things to Shake a Stick At: January 2008

http://stickshaking.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html

Things to Shake a Stick At. Confusing myself, one Thing at a time. Tuesday, January 29, 2008. I've been to Flickr. I have mixed feelings. I get the idea. In theory, I'm all for Flickr and like minded sites. I have friends who upload pictures of their kids, their pets, their vacations, their everythings onto these image sharing sites and then friends and family all over can easily see them. My parents would probably like this, assuming I could teach them to use Flickr. Saturday, January 26, 2008. I think ...

NLLN 23 More Things on a Stick. A Library Learning program in the NLLN region. Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Digital photography - the close up. I find that I often don't use the special capabilities of my digital camera because I forget how to use them or what the icons do. On the Lifehacker blog, there is a great tutorial on how to use the close-up option available on most digital cameras. It's a clear and concise set of quick directions on using the options. 23 Things

Wednesday, 11 August 2010. I think the Cam23 programme has definitely taught me a great deal and enabled me to gain a vast amount of potentially useful information. I would have liked to have had the time to investigate each Thing a little further but I'm hoping that I can revisit the Things that I found most useful at a later stage and look at how they can be introduced into the Education Library. Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Who knew that the web and so many opportunities out there? I have learned a ton this summer as I explored the web. I feel that now I have a little better grasp of what the Internet. Has to offer. At this moment, I am hoping to add "blogs" to my curriculum this year. We shall see if we have the time to make this happen. If I do end up using blogs in my classroom, google reader will be key to helping me keep track at what my students are doing. Thing 22: And Much, Much More. I also ...

Saturday, March 28, 2009. More Twitter - Thing 31. My use of Twitter has really dropped off in the past year.  When I had children attending college out of town, I used it as a way to stay in touch with them.  . My library system has started using Twitter to provide program updates and library news.  The Tweets are fun and informative.  It's going to be interesting to see how this develops. 23 Things Your Mama Never Talked About

Thursday, April 9, 2009. Thing 23 - Survey. Thanks again NEFLIN for a fantastic program. Wednesday, April 1, 2009. Thing 22 – Staying Current. 23 Thing was interesting. I did use some tools I was not aware of and I revisited a few tools a bit more in depth than I had in the past. I would definitely say I came out of this experience a bit more “wise” in the ways of 2.0. I still claim “fill in the blank” 2.0 is a marketing tool. Will I continue to blog after this? It’s been fun! Monday, March 30, 2009.

Tuesday, August 11, 2009. N@, Part I. You know how sometimes you find a thing, but aren't sure exactly how to pass it on? The Follett Digital Reader user guide. Is the perfect example. I could send this to einlibs, or post it in the ACLA wiki, or link it up on Facebook. I could probably put it in multiple places. But, I wonder, what's the best way to make sure we all know there's a user guide to those pesky Follett ebooks? What do you think 23-Thingers? Posted by Leigh Anne Vrabel. Monday, July 20, 2009.

23 Things From Jon Zetah

Thursday, July 24, 2008. Thing 23 - ("twenty-three" - ENGLISH). I was actually taken back at first when I found out it was intended just for librarians. I thought to myself, "What did I get into? Then, after doing a few of the things, I felt a whole lot better. I had to think about libraries. Why were they created? How do we use them?
