Running through the Sixties: September 2008
http://runthroughsixties.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Running through the Sixties. The adventures of a 60 year old woman as she returns to running. Tuesday, September 30, 2008. I am going to work on my pace chart in the next few days. The 3-1 pattern definitely complicates things. I am hoping I won't get confused during the marathon and that I can find the right pace. In any event, it has been fun to train for this and it will be good to reach the finish line on Sunday! Friday, September 19, 2008. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Jeff Galloway Training Journal.

Running through the Sixties: July 2008
http://runthroughsixties.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Running through the Sixties. The adventures of a 60 year old woman as she returns to running. Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Today was great. The temperature was in the 60s and I had a relatively easy workout - the usual cadence and accelerations and just 3 one milers at marathon pace. Somehow I can't run slow enough, even with the 3/1 pattern, but I decided just to try and focus on my pace and not worry too much. I will just have to try very hard not to go out fast in Minneapolis. Sunday, July 27, 2008. This m...

Running through the Sixties: Still running
http://runthroughsixties.blogspot.com/2008/08/still-running.html
Running through the Sixties. The adventures of a 60 year old woman as she returns to running. Sunday, August 31, 2008. Looks like I have been too busy the past week or so to blog. Sorry about that. I am still following my plan and hanging in there. I am back to nervous about how well I will do in Minneapolis. I realize that I am just at the level to accomplish my goal. Wish I was well within the limits for a reasonable expectation to run 4:30 but that's life. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Running through the Sixties: May 2008
http://runthroughsixties.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Running through the Sixties. The adventures of a 60 year old woman as she returns to running. Saturday, May 31, 2008. A Wonderful Morning for a Run. Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Today was a good day. Life is pretty hectic right now. I am traveling three of the next four weekends, not to mention last weekend as well. I have had to rearrange my training days to fit everything in. Guess I am committed to this training! Now, she is encouraging me to follow in her footsteps. Tuesday was hill day. My training ...

The Journey
http://distance-runner.blogspot.com/2009/12/rocket-city-marathon-12-december-2009.html
Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Rocket City Marathon 12 December 2009. I arrived in Huntsville on Friday around noon and just kind of hung out until late afternoon. I went over to the expo to get a couple of things and my packet. Bart Yasso was the guest speaker at the carbo dinner that night- what a great guy and speaker. I really enjoyed his speech and am enjoying his book. I ended up with a time of 4:11:11 so I didn’t hit the 3:50 I wanted but those are just numbers. Looking back- this whole trainin...

The Journey: April 2006
http://distance-runner.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 24, 2006. Recap of week beginning 04-17-06:. The week started off pretty good but ended up with a very busy weekend and no runs. It was a drop back week (of sorts) so I wasn't real worried about getting anything over 10-12 miles in over the weekend, but with the timing of all of the plans for the weekend I didn't get any in. Mon, 04-17: No run. Tues, 04-18: 3 miles. Wed, 04-19: 5 miles. Thurs, 04-20: 5 miles. Fri, 04-21: 6.1 miles (2 mile warm up, 5K race, 1 mile cool down). I shouted back ...

The Journey: October 2006
http://distance-runner.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 30, 2006. Another good week on the base building and enjoying running. I was surprised at how well my 10 miler went on Sunday. No stops at all- just smooth, easy run. The temptation was there to add a couple more miles because it was feeling so good but I decided to stop with the planned 10 miles and end on a positive note to take in to my next week of running. Mon- 10-23: No run. Tues- 10-24: 3 miles. Wed- 10-25: 5 miles. Thurs- 10-26: 5 miles. Fri- 10-27: rest day. Sat- 10-28: 5 miles.

The Journey: March 2006
http://distance-runner.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 27, 2006. Due to an overall lack of training, I decided I was going to make this a training run or slightly faster depending on how I felt. I decided that my overall goal would be 1:45. We left for Knoxville mid day on Friday and it took forever to get there. Should have been about a 4 hour drive, but with traffic and a slow restaurant, it took just over 6 hours. We found our hotel and headed to dinner and a relaxing night. The race started and we immediately started up a hill. I though...
