The National Black Distance Runner Hall of Fame honors athletes in three categories. 8211; The candidate must have been a NBMA member for at least five years and participated in a NBMA Annual Gathering. 8211; The candidate must have been actively involved in the running community before 2004 (i.e. the year the NBMA was founded). This scholarship will provide a minimum of two $750 awards for the 2015/2016 academic year. The awards will be given to a young man and lady. We hope that this information will inspire and encourage others to pursue distance running. I started distance running in the late-1960’s.
