The Parrent Family: October 2010
http://parrentfive.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 31, 2010. We were interviewed by two magazines, “Life on the Water” and “Heartland Boating.” It seems we are the only family doing the trip right now. It was fun to share our story as it seems everyone’s story is so different. The Great Loop can be done in so many ways all with different goals, routes, timelines, etc. We also attended a cocktail reception and thanks to Aunt Shell, the girls had pretty dresses to wear (oops, no pictures though)! Our friend, Leslie Marsh from “Amalia&...

http://parrentfive.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 25, 2011. Our life on land has been an entirely new journey than that on the water. The people we meet, conversations each day and relationships moving forward take a whole new perspective than our cruising life. We love our life and still hold the memories close.I hope we always do. I love waking up at 5:30 with Craig and watching the sunrise. This is the view from our living room window. Jaxons kindergarten teacher, Mrs. VanEizenga, is a sweetheart! The "Healing Field" at Cannonsburg ...

The Parrent Family: November 2010
http://parrentfive.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 28, 2010. Panama City to White City, Florida. There are many many other boats that will be traveling in the same direction. Although we will have no cell phone tower and our VHF will not be able to reach shore for help, we will have the company through the night with our friends scattered around. We hope for a safe passage and good seas! Once settled on the other side, we will be spending a month in Treasure Island, Florida where many family members will be meeting us for the holidays!

The Parrent Family: April 2011

Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Portsmouth and Hampton, Virginia. Sorry for the delay in posting, but I’ve been waiting for internet tower all week. It was VERY fun for me to see my new Followers! Thank you for your support! The waterway was lined with tons of huge naval ships including aircraft carriers, destroyers, subs, etc. The kids had played ‘Battleship’ the game recently and were excited to see the real thing up close! At one point we counted over 26 naval vessels in a row.it was amazing! Probably not ...

The Parrent Family: December 2010
http://parrentfive.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 29, 2010. We've had a perfect opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends! It's been enjoyable for the whole family and we're sad to see them all go. Carrie and John bought the kids Grand Haven sweatshirts for Christmas. They were so excited and put them on right away. Jaxon even asked to wear his to bed. Hayden swimming underwater. He played catch with the kids for so long. My parents, Art and Yvonne Lewis came for a visit from Michigan, and stayed with us for 4 nights ...

Thursday, June 30, 2011. Mackinaw Island, Michigan. We made our way into Mackinaw Island, Michigan and anchored in the harbor. Upon reading Active Captain we knew it wouldn't be the best anchorage, but decided to try anyways. We had a great spot with good holding and good night sleep. The island of course is full of horses and the kids loved everyone of them! The Grand Hotel's name says it all. It's always impressive to see it again. A street sweeper.but of course it's pulled by horses. We purchased the ...

Sunday, March 27, 2011. The winds persisted one day and we decided to find safe harbor at the Jekyll Island Harbor Marina on Jekyll Island. The wind was fierce and about blew the kids off the boat. Funny part was that it was still so hot out! We really do bike everywhere we go! I took this picture while Ryann and I were biking behind them. The terrain was fun and all part of the adventure. It seems a lot of people bike throughout the island as bikes were not permitted on the main roads. He is navigating ...

The Parrent Family: May 2011
http://parrentfive.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 29, 2011. Waterford, New York. There was a Memorial Day parade that was fun to see. 126 foot 1901 vessel just made it under the bridge. Notice the man on a ladder on the topside. We ran up to see him locking through and found out they just underwent a $10 million restoration and the owner was captaining the boat (unheard of). A view of the old Erie Canal that we kayaked by in last post. He once lived in our home town of Grand Rapids, Michigan and managed the Boat U.S. store. From left: David,...
