August 27, 2012. While baking the kids some homemade muffins the other morning, a quiet feeling of autumn came over me. i love the changes during this time of year. There is such calm and quiet at the beach in winter. the perfect place to clear ones head. August 21, 2012. After a peaceful and invigorating week spent at the beach, i feel like i’m ready for the next chapter of this year. Waking up to a clear sky after a week of non-stop rain is a great feeling, it was the perfect way to start the day.

Wherein I Post Photos: March 2009
http://whereinipostphotos.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Wherein I Post Photos. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. One day I'll fly away. I meant to extract her a long time ago. Those kicky feet, that hair, the umbrella. You couldn't ask for a better jumping picture! I had another spell of insomnia last night, so I carefully cut Mary out of the original photo and placed her in the sky above an empty winter field. Some color adjustments, filters, and textures later and I really like the result. Here are the two photos I used in my composition:. View my complete profile.

Wherein I Post Photos: Tres gets the treatment
http://whereinipostphotos.blogspot.com/2009/04/tres-gets-treatment.html
Wherein I Post Photos. Sunday, April 26, 2009. Tres gets the treatment. I took the original photo. Shot in June of last year, so she would have been 8mo) and gave it a cross processed look via a curves adjustment layer in Photoshop. That looked cool, but I thought I'd like to rough it up a little more so I zoomed in on some rusty barrels Mary and I photographed on our recent explore. And overlayed that for texture (masking out the skin a bit). April 28, 2009 at 7:38 PM. Oh my, this is stunning! All the c...

Wherein I Post Photos: Return to Swan Lake
http://whereinipostphotos.blogspot.com/2009/05/return-to-swan-lake.html
Wherein I Post Photos. Saturday, May 2, 2009. Return to Swan Lake. I went back to Swan Lake yesterday because the fields and hills and mountains are finally greening up and I wanted to see if I could get a better panoramic shot. I don't know yet whether or not I did; it's a big process stitching together all those individual photos - even with the automation magic that is Photoshop - and I haven't started on it yet. I did, however, get a few other photos that I like! I couldn't resist the call of that tu...

Friday, September 26, 2008. I couldn't figure out why my chamomile was blooming and then dropping it's petals so quickly. Today I found out why. It's a tiny little caterpillar that has adapted itself to look like a flower or maybe it covers itself in chamomile petals to camouflage itself or to store them for later. Either way, it's hard to be mad at such a smart little thing! The last pic shows it on the yellow part of the flower (I'm sure there's a fancy name for it but it's escaping me right now).

I hotglued the wicks to the candleholders. We've been t...
