Flashcove's cay: April 2015

Thursday, April 23, 2015. Captains and Kings and the War of the Roses. I decided to have another go with my War of the Roses retinues. Unfortunately for the poor figures, the dice gods were unkind on the Leader rolls! Sir Blue's Foot Knights were led by Sir Red himself a Rep 5 leader. His men-at-arms were led by a Rep 3, which would effect them mightily on activation, and his bow were led by a Rep 4. Sir Red was not so lucky. He was a Rep 4, his men-at-arms with a Rep 3 leader, as were his bows! Turn 6&#...

Monday, July 13, 2015. Modifying Fat Dragon Games' Borderline Keep tower as a stand-alone piece. I recently decided that I needed a stand-alone tower with a basic interior for gaming purposes. Searching through my paper models, I found that Fat Dragon Games http:/ www.fatdragongames.com/fdgfiles/. Borderline Keep had a tower that was about 5 " square and should do admirably. Since the tower sides are symetrical, I just printed each side twice for the exterior and interior. Here's a bottom view. I had...

Bullets,Bandages & Lard: Action Station!
http://bulletsbandagesandlard.blogspot.com/2015/06/action-station.html
Bullets,Bandages and Lard. Wednesday, 17 June 2015. Having started the latest pint-sized Chain of Command campaign "Old Hickory" against new oppo Ian (this time I get to play as Germans), I saw in one of the scenarios there is a train station. I've already got a lot of Normandy buildings for 15mm but don't have a station so I set out to add one to the collection. The kit arrived next morning from Wales and I set about putting it together. Next came a heavy drybrush of the walls. The windows with the ...

Sunday, March 30, 2014. Rally Round the King armies from Mighty Armies boxes. So, I now have a couple of friends who are willing to play Rally Round the King. I have converted my Barbarian army to that ruleset and done my Orc army to the same. Let's start with the Orcs. Here's the whole army in one shot. There are 5 Orc bases at 24 points for a total of 120. Plus a Foot Skirmish (Archers) at 8 points, a Black Orcs base (where my general is) for 36 points and a Dire Wolf Rider base for 36 points. Then we ...

Sunday, April 27, 2014. Yes it's always that black orc Grishnac, isn't it? Well, he won't be coming back! This is a Rally Round the King game of orcs versus elves. It did not go well for the orcs. But yours truly forgot some things, of course. For this game the orc commander had a War Rating of 4 and the elf commander 3. Of course, the orcs out-scouted the elves, with a skirmish unit against nothing but heavy infantry for the elves. So the orcs are the attacker. Turn 4: The orc commander orders a charge,...

Zero Sum Solutions: Recruits Spring 2012 - Pt 5 (The Vendor Eye Candy)
http://zerosumsolutions.blogspot.com/2012/05/recruits-spring-2012-pt-5-vendor-eye.html
Thursday, May 3, 2012. Recruits Spring 2012 - Pt 5 (The Vendor Eye Candy). This is the last post on Spring Recruits 2012. This time around I'm going to highlight some of the commercial vendors and the eye candy they had out. Of course, I've already posted about Laser Dream Works. Was there, showing off their 15mm vehicles, if only I had the money and where withall to venture into 15mm SciFi. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Fantasy Fixtures Gaming Emporium. Bullets,Bandages & Lard: May 2015

Bullets,Bandages and Lard. Monday, 4 May 2015. Jonny and the Diggers (part 2). View from the Anzac approach. There's about a 20"(50cm) rise from the near edge to the top of the slope. I already had a plan in mind of how I wanted the table to look. 6' x 6'. A long sloping rise, based on two foot square tiles with a cloth overlay. Gallipoli is surprisingly much more verdant than would first be assumed with plenty of vegetation (cotton bushes, long grasses and even pine trees! I'll be trying to make the dry...

Zero Sum Solutions: TEOTWAWKI, Another Ruin For The Table
http://zerosumsolutions.blogspot.com/2012/05/teotwawki-another-ruin-for-table.html
Monday, May 14, 2012. TEOTWAWKI, Another Ruin For The Table. Here's another ruin for my post apocalyptic table. It's the corner of some long destroyed garage, or warehouse. I haven't decided what is going on the sign, yet. Here's a close up of the roll up door. I actually bought a scrap booking tool, so I can make corrugated metal, anytime I want:-). Brain Poutine: octobre 2013

Mercredi 30 octobre 2013. Repulping Pulp City in anticipation of the kickstarter. Right, so it's been a while. Just wanted to post a few pics of the new figs I recently bought. I really fell back into Pulp City, and I can't wait to dump ridiculous sums of money for their upcoming kickstarter. BTW, I recently found Pulp Citizen. A blog that gives a lot of updates and features well painted minis to boot! So here's ShadowMask, ready to pounce on that poor riot cop from offensive miniatures. I must say that ...

Brain Poutine: Burn those damn vampires!
http://brainpoutine.blogspot.com/2013/04/burn-those-damn-vampires.html
Vendredi 19 avril 2013. Burn those damn vampires! It's a sad fact of life that I've had too live with CACA syndrome (compulsive army collecting and amassing) . recently, I traded away a beastmen army, only to acquire almost as soon a sizable wood elf one. But enough of that, let's get trading. On the chopping block is the root of all evil, my very small Vampire Counts collection. Now this was my first army, and the painted models are really my first tries at the hobby. 19 avril 2013 à 17:50. Il y a 1 an.
