Goat Fell Snow and Calmac Ensign. Calmac Ferries flag on Arran. Waiting to board the ferry this morning I spotted this rather great shot. I love the virtual silhouette of the passenger gangway hoist, as it stands out from the light dusting of snow on Goat Fell. Spot the seagull camouflaged within the image! Bloomin Summer in Brodick. Dawn Breaking at Machrie Standing Stones on Arran. For some reason last night, sleep was not my friend. With light filtering through the bedroom curtains just after 5am, I decided on a whim, that a trip to Machrie Stone Circles was in order. Effie, our Airedale, confused at the lack of morning routine, stayed on her bed despite the lead being removed from it's peg. I'm glad I went and so was Effie. First glimmers of sunshine appear over the fell. Scottish Island House Sale.

Responsible Dog Walking on Arran. Bag it and Bin it . . . but please don't Leave it! It is only when I return to certain areas of mainland walking, that I realise how fortunate the island is to have so little dog fouling left on it's beaches and paths. I, like so many who live here, exercise our dog in these public spaces and I am as vigilant as possible to 'bring out the bag' whenever the inevitable moment occurs. Scottish Island House Sale. A Wealth of Fungi on Arran. Is this just a bumper year for Fungi or have I just been noticing them more often? Apparently, having just 'Googled' the word, there are over 100,000 varieties, so the ones I've found here on the island are clearly the tip of the iceberg! One of the most prolific, and are a joy to behold, are these little red creations and they can be found while enjoying the walk around the King's Caves at Machrie. What is a Fungus? Is any member of a large group of. Which is separate from.

The Wee Arran Art Shop. Kelli in her fabulous wee Art Shop. Look what I found in Brodick this morning! Ok, so we've been 'off island' for a few weeks visiting friends and relatives on the mainland, but I'm not sure how the opening of this gorgeous wee art shop passed us by! The shop will aim to cater for all artists," says Kelli, " From young people developing their stlye, to those who are more experienced.". Art supplies for all. Good luck with the shop Kelli :). Arran Window View of the Scottish 'Coo'. Click on an image to open gallery. These wonderful highland cows are often peering at us over the wall, or are a pair of horns width from the window in our neighbouring holiday cottage. As they relieve an itch or two on the fence post or farmers plough. As I write this I expect that calves too will soon be appearing judging by the sounds emitting from the barn over the last few nights! Scottish Island House Sale.
