Two Years in KiwiLand. Sunday, May 31, 2009. Rotorua (May 29 - 31). Last weekend, we had a 3-day weekend due to the Queen's Birthday (one advantage of not fighting for independence from the Brits I guess) so a few of us decided to go to Rotorua. If you recall, I went there for a day or two over Christmas Break as mentioned in a previous post. Paul and James cleaning up the mess after dinner at the hostel. Two Years in KiwiLand. Saturday, December 5, 2009. Milford Track (Day 4). Today was the final day of hiking. We got our first bit of rain for the whole trip overnight (fortunately it had stopped by the morning). There was a note in the kitchen indicating that we couldn't start out on the track right away as they had to be sure it wasn't flooded from the overnight rain but got the all-clear to head out by around 8:30. After a bit of celebrating and getting eaten alive by the sandflies. Posted by Nate Smith.
