Bloggy McBlog: September 2005

Wednesday, September 28, 2005. An interesting discovery that my group made while checking out the architecture of both Microsoft and Mozilla's websites, was how Microsoft linked exclusively to their product and sublet companies, while Mozilla linked just about all over creation. Let's take a look at Mozilla's Thunderbird. Another unique thing about Mozilla is their forums. A fantastic open place where users can discuss absolutely anything, including other products. If we visit Microsoft's support page.

Tuesday, September 27, 2005. UghI just wrote this big long post about Microsoft vs Mozilla and it was fun and made sense, but with a click of a button poof! I'm sick and tired.this is not a good day! As a web developer, we build alot of car dealership websites in which we link to the national car ocmpany's website for info, but we always do so as a pop-up window with no navigation so taht you are forced to merely close the window when you are done and return to the dealer website. Why do we do this?

The Internet, the final frontier. These are the voyages of a student in the lands of wild, wild cyberspace. Her one term mission: to explore strange new sites and learn more about this place. To seek out new ways of speaking and new virtual realities. To boldly go where milllions have gone before. Thursday, December 01, 2005. Posted by Nadia at 4:25 AM. Quiet Dreamer. Wannabe writer. Sometimes I Go Invisible. 4th year college student, majoring in English (Writing). This blog was established for my Cyberspace Class. Thursday, October 20, 2005. My personal webtopic still needs clarifying but in esscence it will be about how the internet has changed language, vocabulary, types of writing, and thought proccess. Everything for the new cybergeneration is fast paced, bright lights and oo-la-laa's, but it wasn't always like that, was it? Posted by Amanda F @ Thursday, October 20, 2005. I mus...

The Last One Alive. A blog for Writing For Cyberspace Fall '05 at Kean University. Monday, October 24, 2005. Always Love, Hate Will Get You Every Time. Nada Surf - Always Love. Oh Blogger, how I've ignored you. Please don't hate me. I'm terribly sorry. It's just that I've been so busy lately, what with school and work and everything. I'm thinking of you as I listen to this song. I swear I'll change, Blogger. Why don't we go to a movie Saturday, just you and me? The third idea is to focus on the nature of...

Tuesday, September 13, 2005. OmG LoLz K thNx byE! In class, we used three forms of communication to discuss "Cyberspace" by Benjamin Woolley, an interesting article that highlighted the various details of the ever changing online world. Individually, we all wrote a paragraph about the article, then as a group we had a class discussion. Finally we had a chat room discussion on the topic, involving three to four students to a room. Cough*. Hahah. Just kidding D. And then there was the chat room. The chat w...

Monday, October 17, 2005. Does a smart mob commit textual assault? Rheingold delivered the biggest culture shock I've ever had in his essay Smart Mobs: The Power Of Many. I suppose the idea of a mob being able to assemble via text messages and mobile phones isn't really all that far fetched an idea, but I never even considered the idea that it would happen! In 2001, residents of the Phillippines toppled their president's reign by communicating via text messages. Unbelievable. And now I read this essay.

I think the majority of the information provided between all the groups is helpful in some way to their audiences. Are we their audiences though, that remains to be seen. Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Always love, hate will get you, every time. Yeah thanks a lot Josh, now I have Nada Surf stuck in my head. Most underrated band EVER. Making my essay into a presentation for the web hasn't been all that hard. In fact, it's been rather fun! I've quite enjoyed working on my comic strips and taking photos of my friends. While each individual page takes me a hour plus to make up, it's been worth it for the results and laughs that I've recieved from my peers and classmates. Unfor...
