How did I function without an iPhone? Really bad at taking a sick day. I’m mad. Lupus is ruining my life. My brain is foggy, I can’t function as well at work. Prednisone has made me gain weight, I can’t wear my favorite jeans. My face is scarred by the butterfly rash, I’ve lost my confidence. I can’t be in the sun, and can’t take my nieces to the park. I’m too tired to socialize, my friends have just stopped calling. My husband has to do all the chores, now he resents me. July 10, 2012.

I got an iPhone 3 years ago as a b-day gift from my hubby and I’m honestly not sure how I would function without it. I wake up to my iPhone alarm clock, I keep busy with gamer Apps on my hour commute to work, I manage my multiple email accounts and calendars to keep me on track all day, I store my recipes, banking info, passwords and everything important! How did I function without an iPhone? Really bad at taking a sick day. Really bad at taking a sick day. It took two and a half years, but today was the first day I let lupus keep me from going to the office. Usually when it’s bad I suck it up, pop some prednisone and roll out the door. The momentum of my busy day usually carries me through until I can crash and burn home on the couch. I emailed my boss and said I wasn’t coming in, and re-set my alarm for 3 hours later.
