Word from the Counter Culture: April 2008
http://krisavalon.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Word from the Counter Culture. Friday, April 11, 2008. Jerry Lewis is the Man. Some of you may remember that I recently made a post about autograph collecting, and I expressed my intention to write a fan letter to Jerry Lewis (which I did). What's truly amazing is that I posted that entry on March 22nd, and mailed the letter about three days later. Now I've received a response and it hasn't even been three weeks. That must be a new record. Posted by Kris Avalon. Monday, April 7, 2008. And while there is ...

Word from the Counter Culture. Monday, March 24, 2008. I Never Thought I'd Say This. But I sort of relate to Barack Obama (but only slightly). Said Obama during his now famous race speech:. I have already condemned, in unequivocal terms, the statements of Reverend Wright that have caused such controversy. For some, nagging questions remain. Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Yes Did I strongly disagree with many of his political views? Allow gays t...

Word from the Counter Culture. Friday, April 4, 2008. Say What You Will About Thrift Stores. That's right, boyyyyy. Thrift stores are great places to take glamor shots. You can put the clothes right back on the rack when you're finished. Don't be deceived. I'm actually not as happy as I appear. Posted by Kris Avalon. For when you seriously have nothing better to do. Word from the Counter Culture. Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Give Up The Grudge. I went with some friends to Ontario Mills this afternoon. We had an early dinner at Hooters (half-priced wings during Happy Hour! And then headed to AMC to watch the latest Japanese horror import, Shutter. I usually like to check out the new J-horror releases because I love a good ghost story, even though the vast majority of these films are really bad. For every gem like The Ring. There are a dozen duds like Dark Water.

Word from the Counter Culture. Friday, March 28, 2008. Not Quite Notre Dame, but Nevertheless. The picture you see to the left is of the historic Mission Inn. In Riverside CA, an immaculate old hotel with a unique history and even more unique architecture. I have a lot of great memories at that place: sleeping in reportedly-haunted rooms. I have been so impacted by this amazing place that it has become the prime inspiration for my new novel, The Black Portrait Estate. Or, The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Inside a young man's mind. Monday, April 7, 2008. Blog, Blog, and more Blog. Well that is my school how boring. One more year and 10 weeks then i am a real man. Then i have no idea where to go there. Most likely a trade school. But i have to go to bed so good night world. I don't think that sounds boring. It's actually really dangerous. The piping hot goodness of a hot pocket can seriously injure you, you know. I think it's very manly that you take that risk. And during class, too. That school is a prison.

Inside a young man's mind. Monday, April 28, 2008. May 4, 2007. Well that is the saddest day ever. Because my friend is going to go back home and i will miss him dearly. I will miss his random comic posts and his random mind games and just his randomness. He will be gone for sometime but he said he will frequently check online. but he is going to be working most of his time back home, so i will have no one to talk to online. and to tell them about my day. For not giving up on me. April 29, 2008 at 7:09 AM.
