Bisikleta Philippines: Having my shocks serviced by Dan's
How I got into mountain biking. Monday, March 30, 2015. Having my shocks serviced by Dan's. I noticed that there was some oil when I touched the pro-pedal switch of my Fox Float RP23 rear shock after the Timberland ride. I can't escape it. I need to have it serviced. So I called Dan's Bike Shop to check their schedule, and I'm happy that they're open on Saturdays. But I have no choice. I need to have it serviced. True enough, come Thursday, I got a call from them. The shocks is ready! Dan's is the offici...

Bisikleta Philippines: Revisting Velo City
How I got into mountain biking. Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Revisting the Velo City Bike Shop always brings back a lot of memories. It was here where I bought my first branded frame in 1998 - a 16-inch mango-yellow Cannondale CAAD3 frame. A year after, I upgraded my fork from a RockShox Mag21 to a blue Marzocchi Z.2 BAM, which I got from here. Even my classic Onza titanium L-bend bar-ends was from this store. Aside from all the eye-candy, their wrench is, in my opinion, one of the best in the business....

Fearless Dogeaters: Wild 100
Sunday, August 19, 2007. The Wild 100- a true backcountry race. Gina and I stayed at one of the Elk River Touring Center extension cabins. I recommend this to anyone doing this event since the overnight temps can get quite cold even in August and nothing beats a good night's sleep before the race. Another reason to get a cabin: access to the (very clean) restrooms in the main lodge instead of lining up for the porta-johns before the start. Intimidation personified. I was not alone in this respect:. We hi...
Fearless Dogeaters: Got powder?
Tuesday, February 20, 2007. Joe's comment: It's been a while since KonaGirl posted here. But that doesn't mean she's been slackin'. Lately, she's been taking a serious bite out of my riding time to do some of her own. The funny thing is, I couldn't be happier.]. The first time I tried riding a bike in the snow was a few years ago on the. The second time I tried riding in the snow was this month at the Shed with Mr. and Mrs. Singlespeed Outlaw. And the extended outlaw family. We were having so much fun pl...
Fearless Dogeaters: I loves me my cross bike
Thursday, November 22, 2007. I loves me my cross bike. Finally put my Cross check together from parts that I ordered last year. Put on an LX rear deraileur, stole the 9-speed rear wheel from Gina's road bike, WTB dirt drop bars, Shimano 105 shifter/brake lever, blue bar tape, a couple of fat tires, wala! Posted by JoeP at 4:06 PM. Joe, good looking rig. I did have another question for you though re: the fork on your Desalvo. give me a shout when you get a chance. I have been wanting to try some dirt drops.
Fearless Dogeaters: Fhead TT
Monday, September 01, 2008. Did two time trials at Fountainhead over the last few weeks, looking for irrefutable scientific proof that singlespeeds are indeed faster than geared bikes. Rigid 29er singlespeed: 45 minutes. Geared full suspension 26er: 58 minutes. Still trying to find the right words to do poetic justice to SSWC, but having a hard time rhyming something with "Merkin". Hang on a bit longer kiddies. Posted by JoeP at 10:19 PM. Carry a tube, sucka. Riding a couch.". Let me know,. This is a Fli...
Fearless Dogeaters: Bear country
Tuesday, August 14, 2007. Posted by JoeP at 11:22 PM. If you stumbled across a cub, that means a (notoriously over protective) mama bear was probably somewhere close by. That may have been a hell of a lot more dangerous situation than you think! You definitely do not want to get between a mama bear and baby bear. Good advice about the bells! This is a Flickr badge showing public photos from pinoy1x1. Make your own badge here. Aging, gracefully like a lame giraffe. Someone smack me in the head, please.
