http://vard-lokkur.blogspot.com/2011/04/jpa-and-unmodifiable-collections.html
Sunday, April 10, 2011. JPA and unmodifiable collections. Patrycja Węgrzynowicz (see Yon Labs. Had very interesting talk on 33rd Degree Conference. This year called "Patterns and Anti-Patterns in Hibernate". Inspired by this talk, I decided to verify JPA providers behavior regarding unmodifiable Collections. I will use the same Employer. Model as in my previous JPA posts (ex. JPA Demystified (episode 1) - @OneToMany and @ManyToOne mappings. Let's take a look at the Employer. As you see addEmployee. As JP...

Solid Craft: Devoxx 2012 review
http://blog.solidcraft.eu/2012/12/devoxx-2012-review.html
Fighting chaos in the Dark Age of Technology. December 16, 2012. I'm sitting in a train to Charleroi, looking through a window at the Denmark landscape, street lights flashing by, people comming home from work, getting out for a Friday night party, or having a family dinner. To my left, guys from SoftwareMill. AFAIK the biggest Java conference this year. Some talks were so popular, that people were siting on the stairs. The main hall is where most of the vendors are at. After keynotes, normal sessions st...

33degree day3 | Reliable IT Solutions
https://mgruca.wordpress.com/2012/05/22/33degree-day3
Yet another java blog. Day 3 began with the same problem that I had during last talk on previous day. Venkat vs Nathaniel. I picked Venkat, as I expected that JVM languages integrate without any effort from developer, and abstract of his talk suggested something different. I know, I wouldn’t have to write semicolons or brackets anymore, but is it really worth it? Also we are currently recruting Java devs. There are tools that allow for some. Hands off of them. For some they raise readability. That was pr...

Tug's Blog: May 2013

A blog of technologies I am working on and interested in. MongoDB, Web, Java, Node, Mac and more. Friday, May 31, 2013. Create a Couchbase cluster in less than a minute with Ansible. Look at the Couchbase Ansible Playbook on my Github. When I was looking for a more effective way to create my cluster I asked some sysadmins which tools I should use to do it. The answer I got during OSDC. Thanks to Jan-Piet Mens. You can watch the demonstration below, and/or look at all the details in the next paragraph.

Eventually Inconsistent: My 3 cents on 33rd Degree 2013 Conference
http://www.eventuallyinconsistent.com/2013/03/my-3-cents-on-33rd-degree-2013_22.html
Exception thrown in between the IT specialists. Friday, March 22, 2013. My 3 cents on 33rd Degree 2013 Conference. Last week I attended, for the third time, the 33rd Degree Conference. As the year ago. I decided to give some subjective. Marks for each presentation. And by subjective I mean, that notes were taken only be me, according to my perception, my knowledge and my sense only. There was nothing personal in them, so please treat them appropriately. :). This was the last presentation in regular time ...

Eventually Inconsistent: August 2012

Exception thrown in between the IT specialists. Monday, August 13, 2012. 5 reasons why we (still) do not like patterns in the heart of software. We like Design Patterns. They make complicated things simpler. Our brains are designed to tackle complexity with them. It is easier to describe something with words its like that one thing that you know, but with some differences than describing it completely from scratch. Couple of times (in polish). ;). Eventually Inconsistent: My 3 cents on 33rd Degree Conference
http://www.eventuallyinconsistent.com/2012/03/my-3-cents-on-33rd-degree-conference.html
Exception thrown in between the IT specialists. Sunday, March 25, 2012. My 3 cents on 33rd Degree Conference. One of the best conferences for Java masters in Poland has ended. The 33rd Degree. I've been on the previous one and I really enjoyed it. Totally 5/5. However, this year was a little different. I also liked it, but I think it could be better. Some speakers were inspiring, some were boring. ;). And some were talking about things that I already know. Maybe I should read less? After the lunch break,...
