Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Return to the Sushi Buffet. We haven't been out to a sit down restaurant for almost a while and on yesterday, we were both craving sushi and decided to return to Ichiumi, the sushi buffet. After not eating much the night before, we were starving by the time lunch came around and, as you can see, certainly got our money's worth at the buffet. I had 2 plates full of sushi (and goma wakame! And a fruit/dessert plate. Also, bronx zoo continuation any time soon? Sushi and Jon Stewart.

Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Sushi and Jon Stewart. The restaurant is in Koreatown, which is dangerously close to where we live. The sushi/nigiri is awesome here and is, in fact, better than the other restaurants that we pay per piece at. The fish to rice ratio was excellent (lots of fish) and the spicy rolls were amazing. Here is my first plate. Pat's first plate (oh my gosh, did I eat more than him? And tuna tartare (too strong for me). Pat's second plate (geez, I think I did have more than him).

Saturday, February 28, 2009. Today we explored the area about 10 blocks southeast called the Flatiron District. It's named after this highly photogenic building. To the north of the building is Madison Square Park. It's the first large span of grass I've seen in a few months. I can't wait until it's nice out and we can hang out down here. There's even a little dog park. A lot of this neighborhood reminds me of Seinfeld, like the little corner delis. I totally want a chameleon. In the hopes that we'll be ...

Saturday, January 31, 2009. American Museum of Natural History. Today we went to the American Museum of Natural History. And let me just say that it is the most amazing museum I've ever been to and definitely one of the coolest things I've done here in New York. We took the train to 81st street (in the Upper West Side) and the station there is amazing. Because the museum is right next to the subway, the station walls are decorated with amazing mosaics. A diorama of some men(? A diorama of ancient sea life.

Sunday, March 15, 2009. Last Saturday, our housing staff put on a "plant your own plant" event to help make our rooms "greener." I planted spearmint and Pat planted a zinnia, both from seeds. So yesterday, as our plants turned 1 week old, we were amazed to see that Pat's zinnia had sprouted overnight. I had their pasta with meatballs. The view from the cafeteria wasn't bad either. In fact, it was gorgeous. IKEA too. I highly recommend visiting IKEA and taking the watertaxi! March 31, 2009 at 9:23 AM.
