7 Items A Week: August 2011
http://7itemsaweek.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
7 Items A Week. Saturday, August 27, 2011. Week Thirty-Two, Items 254-264. This pin was included in the package of information I got when I signed up to sponsor a child in Africa. I feel fortunate that I was able to make a difference in someone's life, but I don't need to keep this pin. The feeling of having made a difference is what I need—not the pin. More odds and ends out of the house! I have lots of pretty little boxes and pouches; my parents lived in Beijing for three years, and used boxes and pouc...

7 Items A Week: October 2011
http://7itemsaweek.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
7 Items A Week. Saturday, October 29, 2011. Week Forty-One, Items 379-385. I was recently a bridesmaid in a dear friend's wedding, and the bridesmaid dresses came with these sheer chiffon scarves. It's too short to be worn as a wrap, and too lightweight to offer any warmth as a scarf. I might wear the dress again, but I don't even know how this is supposed to be worn. So it can go. For recycling. They donate a book to a literacy program for every single cell phone they receive. How cool is that? Absolute...

7 Items A Week: January 2012
http://7itemsaweek.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
7 Items A Week. Saturday, January 28, 2012. Week Fifty-Four, Items 506-510. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I am not a fan of Kate Hudson, or of Matthew McConaughey, or of romantic comedies. I am a big fan of the yellow dress Kate Hudson wears in this movie. But I would have to like it a whole lot more to keep this DVD. Somehow we wound up with two pairs of kitchen shears. One will definitely suffice, because kitchen shears aren't something we use all that often to begin with. Saturday, January 21, 2012.

7 Items A Week: Week Seventy-Three, Items 685-690
http://7itemsaweek.blogspot.com/2012/06/week-seventy-three-items-685-690.html
7 Items A Week. Saturday, June 9, 2012. Week Seventy-Three, Items 685-690. Certainly this is a functional item, but it's just not something we need. If memories and information were as easy to purge as items, I might choose to forget my locker combination from seventh grade. That's not something I need, either. Unfortunately, I've yet to figure out how to selectively de-clutter my brain. Greeting cards 1 and 2. Ribbon spools 1 and 2. Progress: 690 items out of 800 = 86.25% done. View my complete profile.

7 Items A Week: Week Seventy-One, Items 671-676
http://7itemsaweek.blogspot.com/2012/05/week-seventy-one-items-671-676.html
7 Items A Week. Saturday, May 26, 2012. Week Seventy-One, Items 671-676. Well, we've passed the 100 shirt mark! I can't believe we (okay, mostly me) had so many clothes that we weren't really wearing that we can donate so many and only make a dent in what we have to wear. Anyway, this lace-covered tube top was great when I was younger, but my 30th birthday is approaching far too rapidly for me to keep it. 676 items out of 800 = 84.5% done. 7 Items A Week: Week Sixty-Eight, Items 653-658
http://7itemsaweek.blogspot.com/2012/05/week-sixty-eight-items-653-658.html
7 Items A Week. Saturday, May 5, 2012. Week Sixty-Eight, Items 653-658. Some people really like this style of air freshener, so I thought they were worth a try. And they were fine, but we never bothered with going out and finding replacement scented oil stuff to use with them. The only air freshener we really use is some baking soda in the fridge, so it doesn't make sense to keep these. Might be my husband's last contributions. I knew we had more stuff than we needed, but I didn't think it was an egr...

7 Items A Week: November 2011
http://7itemsaweek.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
7 Items A Week. Friday, November 25, 2011. Week Forty-Five, Items 409-418. Blue tank top 2. This shirt fits perfectly, but the color looks awful on me. I love yellow, but it turns out that most shades of it look terrible on me. I have a light yellow shirt that is flattering, but both this mustard yellow shirt and a bright yellow shirt. I donated earlier make me look like I have the flu. A common-enough look during flu season, maybe, but certainly not something to strive for! I wish I could keep these, be...

7 Items A Week: Week Seventy-Two, Items 677-684
http://7itemsaweek.blogspot.com/2012/06/week-seventy-two-items-677-684.html
7 Items A Week. Saturday, June 2, 2012. Week Seventy-Two, Items 677-684. This vest is so lightweight that it only adds negligible warmth, and the collar comes up high enough to be kind of annoying (though I'm sure it wouldn't bother someone who likes turtlenecks). As a result, I never really wore this, so it can go. Italy is one of my favorite countries on the planet to visit. But Venice is actually not among my favorite cities in Italy. I like this picture, though, and always had it up in my roo...Week ...

7 Items A Week: July 2011
http://7itemsaweek.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
7 Items A Week. Saturday, July 30, 2011. Week Twenty-Eight, Items 221-230. Nail polishes 3 through 8. Shower gel packs 1 and 2. I still do not like beauty supplies and samples. That do not come in resealable packages. I appreciate immensely that philosophy is such an animal-friendly company, but I do not like the cumbersome samples that are too large for one use but that do not store well for future uses. I mentioned in March that we have too many sticky notes. Friday, July 22, 2011. This is one of those...

7 Items A Week: December 2011
http://7itemsaweek.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
7 Items A Week. Saturday, December 31, 2011. Week Fifty, Items 456-475. Mass market paperbacks 1-6. These books were hand-me-downs from my aunt, but they aren't the sort of thing I read. I finally decided on a New Year's resolution today—to read more fiction (I don't have a particular number of books in mind)—but mostly my goal is to get to some classics I've been meaning to read for years. I always gravitate toward non-fiction, and leave fiction on the back burner. Travel toothpastes 3 and 4. Bowl scrap...
