Saturday, August 2, 2008. A hard day's work. The house was fairly presentable for the party today, thank goodness. Every time the house looks this nice, I hope to keep it this way. But, inevitably, health problems get out of hand, and it all falls apart again. I'm so cheerful today! It was a crazy, wild, noisy party. The kids were sent home, the grandparents are gone, our own little ones (we didn't successfully give any away) are in bed. I'm beat. What do I do? Purge the "important papers" box, of course?

Anyway, there was a box of baby socks, a snow globe, some kid clothes, etc. I estimated the count at 63 items. YAY! These lemon bars are really good, and not to "lemony". They are pretty easy to make. It only took us about 2 hours, including cooking. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup powdered sugar. 1/2 cup margarine or butter (I used butter). 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour. 2 to 3 teaspoons grated lemon peel. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1 egg, beaten.

A year of living differently. 365 days of maternity leave; my idea was to take this time to explore and chronicle the things that really excite me. as it turns out, being a mom is oddly time consuming.
