It doesn't matter if the conclusion is true or false but rather the fact that the conclusion doesn't follow the premises in the way that makes all fallacies untrue or questionable. Thursday, November 13, 2008. The recent Amendment 2 campaign sparked many fallacious arguments, not the least of which is this line ( stated on the pro-2 website. When you create a same-sex marriage, you are simultaneously creating a same-sex family.". They used this argument as an incentive to vote yes, saying that it would protect children. However - not only do not all gay couples want children, but Amendment 2 itself has nothing to do with families. So I'd say this is a straw man. And it pisses me off.
