http://smallnotebook.org/2009/03/23/the-spice-cabinet-cleanout
The Spice Cabinet Cleanout. Apparently it only happens once every ten years. Not too long ago I helped my Granny pack for a move to her new house. I packed up her spices and joked about how some of her spices were as old as me. I laughed too soon, because my turn was coming. It had been a while since I checked the expiration dates on all the spice bottles. They were lined up four layers deep. As I prepared for my move, I wondered how old they were. As I looked into the cabinet, I found:. If your spice bo...

Life in the Family Patch. Raising fruits, vegetables and boys. Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Can I Help with Those Christmas Lights? My husband took down the Christmas lights this weekend and it reminded me of the pictures I took a few weeks ago when he put them up. Once he gets started on a project, there's no stopping him. The Difficulty of Doing Less - Small Notebook
http://smallnotebook.org/2008/10/22/the-difficulty-of-doing-less
The Difficulty of Doing Less. It seems like it should be easy to do less, but I find it to be pretty hard. It’s so much easier for me to throw out an old pair of shoes or give away a shirt, but to declutter my commitments? That’s not quick and easy. Some of the things I need to do are unavoidable, so my solution is to get them done in the quickest, most effective way possible. Productivity and simplicity often overlap, although they’re not the same. What would happen if we simplified our commitments?
