Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Our Year Is Off To A Great Start! Our first two days have zoomed by! We have gotten to learn a lot about each other and third grade already. Today we had our first spelling pretest and our spelling lists went home. Please read the spelling letter and if you have any questions, let me know. Friday, September 17, 2010. Quotes about OUR week. In 3G Math we have finished Unit 1 and took a test today. In 3B Math we are almost finished with Unit One. We are planning to review on Monday and take the Unit 1 test on Tuesday. We wrapped up the Social Studies unit about Communities. We can tell you about the three different types: urban, suburban and rural. Next week we will begin studying Habitats and food chains. Was a literature focus in class. We each got to explore our own piece of chocolate.

Monday, February 28, 2011. The 3rd grade ISAT. Session schedule for this week:. Testing will take place in the mornings only 9:15-11:35. Tuesday, March 1st Reading and Math. Wednesday, March 2 nd. Thursday, March 3rd Reading and Math. Make-up testing will begin March 2 nd. And go through the 13 th. Our Specials Schedule will not change however our lunch time will be 12:35-1:10. Saturday, November 6, 2010. Thank you to all of the parents that have met with me to exchange information about our students on Nov. 2nd and Nov. 4th. I'm looking forward to meeting with many more parents on Nov. 10th. :). We are continuing to read a plethora of texts to support growth in our reading fluency and comprehension. Wednesday, October 6, 2010. It was very cold in 3B today. It was like we were studying on the tundra with permafrost beneath our feet! Our polar exploration followed our study of the pond habitat. We focused on this habitat for a couple of days earlier this week and "rapped" it up with The Pond Rap. 3B style. True talent came out and we enjoyed working together! Many of us are reading How To Be Cool In Third Grade. And discussing comprehension questions. Some of the students are reading Fudge-A-Mania.

Friday, February 25, 2011. Getting Ready For The ISATS Next Week. At the beginning of March, the students in third grade will be taking the ISAT. Please help your child prepare for taking these tests by. Having your child go to bed early. Making sure they are rested with a good night sleep. Solve any problems with family or friends before testing. Talk to your child about concerns they have about the test. Eating a healthy breakfast. Bring to school a healthy snack and water.
