A CAD model was supplied by the customer. A suitable method of manufacturing was determined and fixturing was designed for each of the machining operations. 5 axis NC programs were generated to machine the component on a mill / turn machine. This rendered sectioned view shows a cutter assembly in position. We are now using PowerSHAPE 2013 R2. We are currently using CATIA V5 release 20. We are now using PowerMILL 2013 Service Pack 4.

Learn more about us. How to find us. We are based in Victoria Mill on Piggott Street, The building is also the home of Silcoms Limited so look out for their signs on the building. We ocupy the single story annex near to the main reception, you enter via the main door and then there is a phone on your right that will connect you to our office. Our hours are from 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday and weekends as required. We are now using PowerSHAPE 2013 R2. We are currently using CATIA V5 release 20.

Gap and Flush Checking Fixture. Outside skin line CAD data was supplied, this was offset to add component thickness and using this a 3d model of the checking fixture was created. Datum points were indicated by the customer to allow checking of the welded assembly, this was done using the Gap and Flush technique. The upper component surfaces were extended to create the flush check section of the gauge. DTI clocks are then positioned on pillars to check key points. We are now using PowerSHAPE 2013 R2.

From drawing to finished part. 2d DXF drawing files were supplied by the customer, these were positioned into 3d space and a solid model was created of the finished component, a reverse check was carried out by creating a fully dimensioned drawing of the model to check against the original drawings. Using drawings a forging model was created including slit lines, tapers and tooling lugs. The finished component was inspected and supplied. Animation showing manufacture process.
