Tuesday, February 10, 2015. UPLOAD VR - making the SF virtual reality scene a cool one. Over the past couple years, there has been a rise in groups that focus on virtual reality here in the SF Bay area (mainly due to Oculus' success). It used to be just the Silicon Valley. The gents are now moving the event on to other cities including New York and Austin. I highly recommend this group and its events to all that want to be cool, and not just geeky, with virtual reality. Keep uploading the VR cool...I lov...

Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Uniting Kingdoms - AEC Hackathon goes to London. The AEC Hackathon 2.4 was this past weekend in London. Held at Future Cities Catapult's Urban Innovation Centre. The really exciting things about this AEC Hackathon for me are it was the first one outside of the United States and the first one supported and locally organized by a government entity. The local lead organizer was Simon Hart from Innovate UK. To be expected, the teams developed some pretty amazing hacks. Autodesk Chal...

Tuesday, June 23, 2015. An Epic day of Unity with the Seattle VR scene. I just had an unforgettable day of VR here in the Seattle area. It started off at Envelop VR's office to discuss an upcoming VR event they organize called SEA VR. And then my buddy Greg and I got to visit both Unity and Epic's local offices. I can't thank Nick and Pete enough for letting us see their VR rigs and try out their VR demos. Unit So far, this headset is by far my favorite HMD. The experience started with me in the mountain...

Exploring business applications of virtual worlds by Peter Quirk. Posted by: Peter Quirk. March 1, 2009. I’ve been a little quiet of late due to digging into modrex while getting up to speed in a new job. For those who don’t know what modrex is, it’s a project to integrate all of the realXtend features with the mainline OpenSim code by incorporating them in a optional regionmodule – hence the project name modrex. The work is being done by Adam Frisby. The status of Python event handlers is here. On March...
