Wednesday, September 18, 2013. When I was a small child watching Sesame Street, I thought Prairie Dawn. Was the most beautiful name, never having seen a prairie dawn at that point in my life. Have you ever ridden through the Canadian shield on the train, with the sun setting in front of you, only to wake several hours later to a real prairie dawn, with the sun rising up behind your back? I was so happy. Oh yes, and I did go to a bbq on Sunday, a reunion for my daughter's camp. Tuesday, September 17, 2013.

Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Ah and February is almost over. Not that I am sad, the opposite in fact. Paul has a tradition of celebrating Groundhog Day! Paul decided that, since it wasn't technically Groundhog Day, he wouldn't make buffalo chili after all! But he did make buffalo burgers and homemade french fries on Sunday night so all was well. Then, on Monday, we got the news that Lily had been accepted to an arts-oriented high school as a dance major! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A trinity of hamsters.

Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Chocolate fudge Pop-Tart spread with the cheese-stuff from three cheese-and cracker packets, topped with two slices of pre-cooked bacon and heated in a toaster oven. First the taste of the salty-smoky bacon hits you, then the implied cheesiness of the fake cheese, then finally the chocolate. The reason most of this is gone is because I could not resist eating it before finding my camera! Sunday, September 5, 2010. Enjoyed traveling in her home country. Friday, September 3, 2010.

Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Well, I may not have made pancakes on Pancake Tuesday but I've made them twice since. I use Paul's perfect pancake recipe, which was passed on to him by his grandmother. I also made it for him instead of regular cake for his birthday. This is what we do when it is just the two of us:. It's really easy to multiply this recipe, though.). 1 tbsp baking powder. A pinch of salt. 1 tbsp sugar (I go to the bag of dark brown sugar and find a tbsp-sized clump). Approx 2 tbsp butter. Of cou...

Saturday, July 25, 2015. Ah, it's been a long time. I started a post a while back but it was way too complicated and analytical so I never finished it. In the meantime, I have started something I call "moonlight running" which is, of course, running by moonlight, because it's too crazy hot to run any other time. I am looking to get us all a family Y pass. The West End Y doesn't have the Run Fit Classes I used to love but they have new things like Kettlebell. We also went to Disgraceland. Where I got some...

Saturday, February 21, 2015. I went to my other home to celebrate family day with my family- minus Paul who was unfortunately still sick. My mother made some amazing curries that we ate over the next couple days and my father made quiche and pierogies- some of my favourites. Remember how I said I probably wouldn't be doing much cross-country skiing? And substitute mint juleps! Though I couldn't stay for the music. I had a decaf macchiato and read a Lacan book. Can there be anything better? A Breaking Bad...

Sunday, February 15, 2015. Well, Valentine's day was yesterday, Paul was nasty sick- a bit better today, and I was recovering from a night shift. Bleh. When I lived in Co-op, some people decided to have Valentine's day officially be "pink and red day" which made the rest of us so angry we plotted a "black and grey day" in revenge. Yesterday was definitely black and grey day. But there are lots. About the colour red. For tea and incense as well as House of Energy. Speaking of the colour red. blue lotus.

Wednesday, January 15, 2014. This is another post from November that I never published! That doesn't happen every day! Well, it's been a while again, but here is a November post I never put up: My Toronto home is moving from here. And I have been putting on crock pot lunches here. At my other home! Today it was pumpkin soup and I have a spicy spinach lasagna dish for next week! Where she got makeup. We had all-you-can eat at Spring Rolls. Well, it's been fun. We had a trip to Pittsfield.
