I have now finished my challenge for the 3mm Society 50th Anniversary. An interesting exercise in tones which was harder than I imagined. See what you think! The project list is getting shorter. 50×50 Shades of Grey. Various railway orientated modelling projects in my new workshop/railway room. Archive for the month “March, 2015”. I haven’t updated the blog for some time. As a break from other projects I have been building a commission for a model of Culraine Station Cottage to go on Kyle of Sutherland, a P4 layout under construction. Have look at https:/ p4modeller.wordpress.com/author/p4modeller/. I have enjoyed the project and only hope the results are acceptable. Railways and other things.

50×50 Shades of Grey. Various railway orientated modelling projects in my new workshop/railway room. The loco is now looking like it should. I must admit that I haven’t put on every part that the 4 and 7mm models would have, as many of the etchings are so tiny I can’t see them! I think the overall effect shows what delightful locos these were. I have at last made a start on those draws of flat packs that every modeller has! With the need for an early GWR tank loco I decided I had to take the plunge.

50×50 Shades of Grey. Various railway orientated modelling projects in my new workshop/railway room. Having completed the stone walling around the orchard and inserted all the gates, apart from some small detailing, the tray is finished. There is some detailing required around the edges of the tray but this will have to wait until it is installed in the scene. Newer Entry →. One thought on “ Cowleaze Farm finished. 50×50 Shades of Grey. Various railway orientated modelling projects in my new workshop/railway room. Work is progressing on my small 50cm x 50cm dockside shunting scene. As I hinted in a previous post I have decided to attempt to do the whole scene in greyscale! The layout is to be called “50 x 50 Shades of Grey.” Groan groan! Newer Entry →. 50×50 Shades of Grey. Various railway orientated modelling projects in my new workshop/railway room. Bob Symes (1924 – 2015). Sad to hear of Bob’s passing. My main memory of him is receiving a tankard from him for best visiting layout in 2000 with a previous layout “Wye Knot”. In a rare departure from my general policy of ignoring of topics beyond strictly modelling, I thought I really ought to comment on the passing of Bob Symes at the beginning of this week.
