Steady, son, sibling, sire, singer, steward, solver, and social sidekick. Places I’ve Been. Breaking with Tradition: a quiet celebration →. Spa for my Soul. October 26, 2013. I sit alone in the front row, off to one side, and I wonder if the operator in the lighting booth realizes that what is happening in this space is far from commonplace. The music crashes and swirls through the hall, and we are the only two who are here to receive it. This entry was posted in Art. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Riding s...

This might become a habit… | Blogitone

Steady, son, sibling, sire, singer, steward, solver, and social sidekick. Places I’ve Been. Now we’re cooking! This might become a habit…. January 13, 2013. So, for the second week in a row, we visited the Farmers’ Market. One more, and we could have a habit on our hands. And a healthy one at that – well, healthy for the body, if not the wallet. Good foods can be mighty expensive. But they taste sooooo good! 8220;), as well as a couple shots of scrumptious citrus and red peppers. I also found the time to...

The EmBot: August 2013
http://the-em-bot.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, 31 August 2013. For the second episode in a row, the Doctor is trying it on with a new woman. Despite losing Rose, and having being rebuffed by Donna, he immediately sees something he likes about Martha Jones. He's indefatigable. This is the best series opener so far. More ambitious than Rose. More accomplished than New Earth. It has key advantages over both of them. Unlike Rose. The audience is fully acquainted with the show and completely comfortable with the Doctor. Unlike New Earth. Maybe w...

The EmBot: The Name of the Doctor
http://the-em-bot.blogspot.com/2013/11/the-name-of-doctor.html
Friday, 22 November 2013. The Name of the Doctor. Immediately this feels like something very special indeed. Still months (or hours) away from the 50th Anniversary, we are unexpectedly treated to a montage of previous Doctors, the highlight of which is seeing the First Doctor in the process of stealing himself a TARDIS. The significance couldn't be clearer: this is a story that started, as the caption reminds us, a very long time ago. When we started re-watching these new episodes with Rose. Jenny's fear...

Steady, son, sibling, sire, singer, steward, solver, and social sidekick. Places I’ve Been. Off topic… →. January 6, 2011. Ups and downs. Hills and Valleys. Peaks and Lows. Monday, my home emptied out except for me and Oliver. Work flew back into play in such volume and momentum that I felt a little bit like I had forgotten to buckle my seatbelt when Han Solo slung the Millenium Falcon into light speed with no warning whatsoever. Those are made by taking several cups of green beans and tossing them in a ...

Steady, son, sibling, sire, singer, steward, solver, and social sidekick. Places I’ve Been. Spa for my Soul. Big Magic →. Breaking with Tradition: a quiet celebration. November 28, 2014. Had been extraordinarily kind enough to support the Arizona Opera. About a week ago by catering an event for our support league – it was delicious! Reservations made for the evening, I decided to be thankful for an entirely stress-free, guilt-free day to watch movies and relax. My mind then began to wander to those for w...

The EmBot: May 2013

Sunday, 5 May 2013. And My Bird Can Sing. For a few weeks now there has been a bird sitting in the tree in my garden. It is visually unremarkable - brown, medium-sized - but it makes the most incredible noise, whistling and shouting for hours at a time. It's not birdsong so much as a weird incongruous collection of sounds, a sort of Space Invaders Tourettes: it seems compelled to pour forth, incessantly. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I do sometimes write posts about. And My Bird Can Sing.

Steady, son, sibling, sire, singer, steward, solver, and social sidekick. Places I’ve Been. Now we’re cooking! Bein’ Green →. January 20, 2013. This week’s harvest at the visit to the Farmers’ Market yielded a couple bunches of beets, and lest anyone worry that I’m drawing an unflattering comparison, these gorgeous tubers look to be anything but nasty. The two varieties of root veggies we found are Chioggia, a variety with a variegated interior when sliced, and the Gold, which have a distinct orange hue.

Wool-gathering about fiber, yoga, parenting, and life. Saturday, December 31, 2011. A year in the life . This time last year, I was gearing up for our move to Minnesota after 12 plus years in Michigan. Mark would be househunting and starting his new MN job in January, and the kids and I would be packing up our house for a late February move. Since then I have:. Said good-bye to very dear friends and to an idea of myself based on external factors. Experienced travel baseball (never again). Cheered on my s...
