A year in the life of a modern 40-year-old man. May 2, 2011. I had been promised a free day on my birthday, which meant I could choose to do anything I liked. Within Reason, of course. There was very little chance of jetting off to New York for cocktails before catching a flight to the Grand Canyon to enjoy a champagne picnic in a hot air balloon. Effectively, what it meant, was that I could choose any number of things on the following list:. Stay in bed and watch crappy DVDs. Spend all day in the pub.
