Who would think to transport golf clubs across the country on their bikes! Day 11 : New Mexico. Safford, AZ to Lordsburg, NM. Howard - picking up cans since 1982. Glenn and the beauty of the open road. Bernie - much faster than Glenn. Where are all the Dollar Stores? Out in the New Mexico Desert. Shading up at Ol Jo's Diner. This gentleman drank coffee, had a small basket of fries, no newspaper, didn't talk to anyone. Chicken was overly excited to get to New Mexico. A windmill is a welcome sight out in the desert. It could mean swim time. Country boy loves swimming in cow water.

Day 17 : Texas. Trespasser’s Campsite, TX to Alpine, TX. Coldest morning to date. The McDonald Observatory off in the distance. Chicken resting in a bed of wildflowers. We finally reached the top of Texas. I think. This guy was trying to attract Quail with his tape player. The place was full when we first came in. cleared out within minutes, must've been our funk. These cowboys are fixin' to teach this boy from Oklahoma a lesson. Working on the website and coolin' off the knees. Day 15 : Texas.

Day 5 : Arizona. Blythe, CA to Exit 53. Walking the bikes over the Colorado River. Talking to the guys back in Jackson. Cruising across AZ on the Interstate. First flat. Glenn 1 - Kane 0. Faster than Jeff Gordan's pit crew - No. Not many places to stay on I-10. We selected campsite 1A because it was the furthest spot from the road. Time to enjoy some fine dining. Day 5 : Arizona. Even though we stayed in Scottsdale last night, the FS was still 26 miles away and do I even have to say - uphill and about 95 degrees. Smart I think I'll wear this long sleeve shirt in Phoenix.
