fiberluscious: The Classic Pincushion
http://fiberluscious.blogspot.com/p/classic-pincushion.html
Sew Stitch Innovate Inspire. The "Classic" Pincushion is one of my favorites. The design is simply "classic". They are so easy to embellish it and make the design yours. You can create as many sections as you need. They never tip over and are small enough to add to your travel bag. You can use just about any fabric. Because they take so little fabric, you can make use of your larger scraps. They make ideal gifts! Here are a few variations of the Classic. Here are the materials you will need. Pin the fron...

Kerry Stitch Designs: How Long Does It Take?
http://kerrystitchdesigns.blogspot.com/2015/06/how-long-does-it-take.html
Tuesday, June 9, 2015. How Long Does It Take? That's the question that is often asked about making a quilt and it baffles me. What does it matter? To me, it isn't the amount of time spent or if I will even finish everything in my lifetime. What matters is the enjoyment that comes from creating something beautiful. A simple Fly Stitch and Buttonhole outline in Pearl Cotton #8 finish the small leaves. The outside petals were outlined in Pearl Cotton #8 in Crested Chain Stitch. The pink berries are embellis...

Kerry Stitch Designs: Setting Goals
http://kerrystitchdesigns.blogspot.com/2015/06/setting-goals.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. I find it's sometimes helpful to set goals for my stitching as it keeps me focused on a project that is lagging behind. Such is my Enchantment wall hanging. I started this project a year ago and have been setting it aside time and again, picking up something different. A few weeks ago I realized that I had to set a date for completion or just throw it away. Posted by Kerry Stitch Designs. June 27, 2015 at 11:41 AM. NEVER throw anything away! Glad you had a good trip! I check out ...

Kerry Stitch Designs: Wool Applique
http://kerrystitchdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/04/wool-applique.html
Wednesday, April 18, 2012. It's no secret that I love wool applique with embellishment. Since I want to highlight my embellishment, I don't want the applique stitches to show. My favorite method is to quickly make small whip stitches with a matching wool blend thread that "hides" in my wool. Unfortunately, the thread is expensive - close to $10 per spool, which results in a sizable investment if you are just getting started in wool applique. Even a simple project could cost $100 in just thread! Last Mond...

Kerry Stitch Designs: Little Blocks Embellishment
http://kerrystitchdesigns.blogspot.com/2013/04/little-blocks-embellishment.html
Monday, April 15, 2013. Last week I posted photos of the blocks designed and stitched for my new bucket. Thank you to everyone who requested a copy of the patterns and if you would like them, just send me an email at kerrystitchdesigns@gmail.com and I will send them out - free. I thought it would be fun to share how I embellished each block and which threads I used. Let's start with the dragonfly block as everyone seems to love this one and it was sooooo easy. Two of my favorite thread colors were used f...
