Our Life as Homeowners. The Renovation Exploits of the Dominguez Family. Sunday, January 13, 2008. Before I do a quick run down of all of our holiday traveling, I wanted to share some pictures of our house. I took most of these photos during the holidays, so you will notice a lot of Christmas decorations in the background. Here you can see our front entrance, a mid-level foyer area between the main level and the basement. One side of our kitchen is a breakfast nook, which works great for most of our meals.

So, for those who have not visited our house - we had a sliding glass door that did not close all of the way and had to be locked with a broom stick! We are very happy to post that we had the sliding glass door replaced today! Not only does it completely close.it has a lockable screen, is energy efficient, and is generally more aesthetically pleasing. And here is the after:.

Steven and I decided to take advantage of the 50% off sale at our local nursery and completely redo our front yard garden. With Lily joining us this winter, we thought it was a good idea to plant in the fall and simply do maintenance in the Spring. It turns out that I really like gardening! Here is the before picture:.
